We can waive Salmons for the cost of a million and Prince is making 8 million I believe. Prince is a terrible basketball player these days

Its a good deal but Prince is not better than Salmons in anyway

On the court he definitely is. I'm not talking about the cap hit, just basketball.

They are about the same

Prince TS% .438 WS 1.5 PER 8.2
Salmons TS% .462 WS 1.7 PER 7.8

Similar players in terms of production. Prince has a better career.

Also kings are looking for a star to trade their pick. Not get more picks.

Ennis (20), Capela (22), Bogdan/Inglis (37)

At least getting somethign for John Salmons, and 1 less defender in the opposing team that frequently shuts down DeRozan (Prince)

Except for on the entire defensive side of the court. Prince can still defend at a high level.

I don't think this has been true since 2012.

He might have the occasional play where he's able to bother someone's shot, but he is a shell of his former self. He looked awful in Memphis. He's now a huge liability on offense and a mediocre defender.

Probably means one of Pat Patterson or Greivis Vasquez is gone.

prince would have been super useful against the Nets in the playoffs.. he can definitely be the 8th guy, maybe 2nd perimeter player off the bench.. he seems tailor made for Casey thou, i could see heavy over-usage

and he's an expiring so I can live with the money

not really, hurts more in resigning PP/GV I think. I think the Raps would still have like $11-13 mil in cap space.

Prince actually does fill our need for a big wing too! Haha. He's generally a terrible big wing at this point, but would be useful in certain matchups where Ross/DeRozan are getting clobbered.

Hmm... maybe the stats say so but I'd much rather have Tayshaun Prince out there than John Salmons.

Not really - Lowry will be the starter but he really needs a back up PG. Lowry can't keep playing heavy minutes like the does (got hurt for the playoffs, but still played)> GV may go, but Casey likes using GV as the SG, so that may take care of itself.

Patterson might be gone. Don't see us paying him the money he deserves on the next contract.

We would pay market value foir PPat and Vasquez likely under 10M for both. There is a a 12-13M space between Cap and Tax.

What does career production have to do with a couple of vets at the end of their career?

Point being, neither are good

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks
