Update to potential Raps/Grizz trade: Deal would more likely send No. 37 with John Salmons to Memphis for Tayshaun Prince and No. 22 pick

I would prefer the first deal Salmons and 59 for Prince and 22 but the updated one isnt too bad. Masai apparently was waiting for a hidden prospect to be there at 37 and with this deal it confirms that he isnt too sure the prospect will be there at 37. Prince is over the hill but he can still defend and will be a good backup o defend the big SFS in spurts. With two first rounders the targets must be Capela/Ennis

Good

I like both but the last thing we need are more "solid" players

7.7 million expiring contract at a position of need - I'd definitely like this deal. If we walk away from this draft with three of Capela/Ennis/Anderson/Inglis/Bogdanovic/Stokes I'd be pretty happy.

Similar players in terms of production. Prince has a better career.

What does career production have to do with a couple of vets at the end of their career?

Point being, neither are good

I never said that makes one better than the other. Just stating that Prince has had a better career. I don't mind a trade as we aren't taking a long term contract anyways and opens up next season for a few big signings.

This deal give MEM quite a bit of flexibility if Z-Bo exercises his ETO, which he's leaning towards. Could they be players for Kevin Love?

i wonder who will OKC pick at #21. Do we have to be considered that they may take one of the guys on our draft board, and if so who?

If I were to get Patterson would be gone. 2pat is unfortunately too short to effectively defend the PF position

I wonder if 20+22+Ross gets us a top 8 pick?

You know those calls you get about sending money to a Nigerian Prince? Masai is that guy.

I believe Patterson is more important to this team. It's going to suck saying goodbye to Vasquez, though.

Maybe ennis is dropping, so Masai wants the 22nd pick and then he has a plans/deal for the 20th pick???

They are about the same

Salmons TS% .462 WS 1.7 PER 7.8

Hmm... maybe the stats say so but I'd much rather have Tayshaun Prince out there than John Salmons.

Raptor fans think Prince is better than Salmons
Grizzlies fans think Salmons is better than Prince

Conclusion: Both benchwarmers who shouldn't see a minute of action on our team

This may reduce the value of OKC picks #21 and #29. If Toronto sandwiches them. They will end up with 2 players eating cap space.

I don't see that at all. Lowry's situation is independent of this. I think we'd be just as happy to draft Napier at #20, and one of them is very likely going to be available at #20.

I don't see the love for Napier aside from what he's done while spending four years at UConn. I'd prefer Ennis personally.

So can we still re-sign one of Patterson/Vasquez?

Life without Nando really.

Kyle, GV and Ennis?

Or are you thinking GV is gone or playing way more SG? Hopefully we keep GV, I think they need him on the team.
On Gerald Henderson vs Derozan:
"Yes. Hendo is quite a bit better than DeMar.
So yes, I do believe he's currently the better player and do project that will continue to be in the future. I would also take Turner over DD."
