What's funny is this may happen and when neither are drafted, people will call for Masai's head as though we know a great deal about the prospects that they don't. I have a feeling though that these are the guys though.

StopitLeo wrote:Prince is pretty much done as a player so we are basically buying the pick for $6.7M since Salmons only has $1M guaranteed. That is a lot to roll the dice on someone you draft at 22. Not my money though, so why not!

i dont see it that way that all the money saved went to getting the #22 pick. If raptors waived Salmons, raptors would have gone out to FA to sign someone with the available money, so money would be spent. In this trade, that money that would have went to FA is spent on Prince, who is still a serviceable defender, better than salmons. And Prince is an expiring which could net us some asset in the future.

I think Prince is alright, much better than Salmons

If you're asking Casey, no.

No one gives two sh*t's for Prince, that's not the point.

The prize is #22 and potentially coming out of this draft with Ennis and Capela. Prince is a small price to pay for one season when you consider having 2 potential building blocks for our future.

Oh I love the the trade, Ennis is presumably the more NBA ready prospect while Capela is the project big with high upside. I would maybe look to see if Hansbrough could be packaged with #59 to snag a #31-35 pick if the deal is Salmons +#37 and grab Inglis or another wing.

the world underestimates canadians and how much they love not just sporst, but basketball. they say we don't know anything about basketball when it's growing and growing every year.

I think one factor could be the immigrants. Being a filipino for example and knowing how there are a very large amount of Filipinos in the GTA, and knowing they more than likely all love and watch basketball, it's easy to understand where our fanbase is from. We are a very mixed country, and that creates a strong fanbase.

I'm arguing the fact that you don't build a team with low draft picks, you complement the players you already have. We still don't have a player/players which you can add complementary pieces to, just a bunch of complementary pieces. We don't have a 'Duncan'.

Nobody has a Duncan. Except the Spurs. We shouldn't try to get better unless we have a Duncan first?

Its the pro-tanking argument. You tank until you get TIm Duncan. If you dont get him, just forfeit all your games until you do.

Too much IMO. History says there's a better chance one of Ross, 20, or 22 has a better career than a #7 pick.

The 59th pick?! Lol wow this would be steal!

Potentially Ennis, Capela and Inglis or Bogdan what a helluva haul that would be!

We have about 3 hours to make about 4 trades consecutively!

No its not useless. This is a deep draft with not much separating 10-25. In for one have no interest in moving up to get someone like Gary Harris, Elfrid Payton or Aaron Gordon. Having an extra pick even in the 20s is great. Keep piling on young assets.

LOL. I think that our fan base is large enough that no matter who we pick there will be huge arguments on this board tonight. It's very entertaining. I couldn't imagine being a fan of a team with a board that sees little action.
