honest question, why is he an ideal fit? He isnt a shot blocker and many scouts say he has low BBIQ. that doesnt scream to me an ideal fit next to Vuc.

He averaged almost twice the blocks of Randle and Gordon last year. He's certainly more of a shot blocker than the other elite PF prospects in this draft.

That's the reason I'm not as high on any of the PF as most are. I wouldn't draft any of them at 4.

Rarely do all these trade scenario's and rumors materialize. If that is hilarious, knock yourself out.

It is, thanks :D

Obviously you are an adolescent. It is sad you can not post on here without some wiseguy teen replying with nonsense. And not even addressing the substance of your post. No need to reply to you anymore today. I am sure your parents will be putting you down to beddy-by soon.

I apologize to others for posting this reply but why can't we all express our opinions and thoughts without getting the smarmy wisecracks?

Now Henny...GO GET EXUM!

I love posts like these too

If we want a "shot blocker" we should go after Henson.

If we want a defensive presence that blocks as well as defends well then Vonelh is NOT it......yet.

The only prospect in the lottery that does that is Embiid.

With that said I'll be happy with Embiid or Exum and looking how things are going we will be in the position to do so.

If Exum is gone and Embiid is still there and we draft Vonelh then and only then I will be pissed.

Because Vonleh has the tools to be a defensive rim protector, which Vuc clearly is not. And offensively, Vonleh can both stretch the floor with his shooting ability and also has some solid post skills.

He may not be a better player than Randle, but he is a better fit here IMO. We need a defensive big next to Vuc and Vonleh can be that, while still being a solid offensive player. We will need to be patient though, because he is a work in progress. The skills and measurables are there though.

The Aaron Afflalo trade has really taken me down! I feel sad! I want to hope for the draft, I do not know what to expect!

It's also worth noting that if we take a PF like Vonleh at #4, we have a lot of quality guard options at #12. But, if we take a guard like Exum or Smart at #4, there are no legit PF options available at #12 in all likelihood.

Anyone post this yet?

AAA's PER36 first two seasons in the league:

PTS AST REB FG%
10.2 1.9 5.1 41%
10.6 1.3 3.9 43%

Fournier's PER36 first two seasons in the league:

PTS AST REB FG%
17.0 3.7 2.9 49%
15.3 2.7 4.8 41%

I know there's a lot more to a basketball player than these stats, but it may explain why Henny made the trade. Fournier is on a path to be a better player than AAA.

I 'm okay with raw players but I don't like players that get lost on plays. I don't know if it's likely that he will eventually be seen as a high BBIQ guy. He has a better chance at becoming LaMarcus Aldridge than becoming a defensive force.

Howard Mass wrote:I think there is a second move coming after the Afflalo deal. The deal creates more capspace/flexibility.

I like Evan Fournier and do feel he will be a nice swingman for this team. He also played some point guard last year in Denver.

Getting the 56th pick makes the second round interesting.

In the end, I think Fournier is going to be a good pick but you wonder two things.

1) Is this the best deal they could have gotten for Afflalo?

2) If they liked him so much, why not take him over Andrew Nicholson in 2012?

Exactly, this seems like deal you could have had anytime, why draft day? Why add another 21-year old the day you're adding two? Afflalo was playing very well on a great contract, and was only 28? So why rush this deal hours before the draft? It has to be tied to something else. Key could be this might be rob's first ever cap-reducing move, so that might be its primary motivation. Is a big contract coming in that we needed some more space to absorb?

If the Magic are looking for a defensive big, there is no way they pass on Embiid. They take the chance on forming a twin tower duo in Vuc and Embiid. Then take one of the many guards/SFs that will be available at 12. That would be the smart play. Not to mention, they could get an amazing offer for Embiid since it seems multiple teams will draft him if he falls to them in the bottom 5 of the top 10.

I also believe the Magic will move Nelson tonight. Not sure what for, but he will be moved to help a team out salary wise.
