Too much "what if's". Lowry is the biggest piece to the puzzle.

Do you see how replacing Lowry/Vasquez with Ennis makes us a worse team though? Masai better have some plans for free agency. That's all I'm saying.

K I'm sorry if this comes off rude but who are you? This trade literally has f all to do with Prince he is a cap hit in a year where we are looking to do nothing much fa wise. He is going to be better than salmons and we move up 15 spots, and if you've read any of this topic a few people have broken down that we can resign everyone and still be under the tax. Giving lowry an 11-12 mill a year deal.

And I have not seen many people say Prince will be a starter and I doubt he will be, just look at the bigger picture.

Exactly how i feel. If this happens this is a win-win. You get the 22nd pick, get rid of Salmons and get a guy in Prince who will fill a good role for this team in his last year of his deal. Brilliant move by Masai if this guys through. Do not know why some are complaining about this move. This is a one year commitment for Prince before he is off the books next year where the Raptors will have a ton of cap space.

I kinda understand why we wait till okc drafts but isn't this still a win win even if we do it now, or is that 6 mill money saved a big deal

With Capela at #20, Ennis or Napier at #22 is a sure bet. OKC holds #21 and has no need whatsoever for another PG

By the way, those of you worried about Capela should consider that Kevin Aronovitz of ESPN did an Insider column today in which he used a statistically based analysis of CC to anoint him the potential steal of the draft.

Now that's what I like to hear!

Obviously I'm late to the party, and just saw this, but man...this makes sense on so many levels for the Raps.

Tay Prince meets a near-term need, should be able to tutor Ross on how to maximize his potential as a D-minded wing, has a contract that expires at the end of the 15 season, and is generally regarded as a good team guy.

Taking Salmons off the roster ensures that Casey won't be tempted to put him on the floor.

The pick swap is obviously a big win for the Raps.

I love the idea of being able to use the Raps' superior financial situation to swindle cheap teams/owners.
Interviewer: Championship #2?
Ujiri: Hey...We're gonna get it. I don't know when it'll be, but we're gonna get it. Just like I said we'll get the first one and I said I didn't know when we'd get it...But we will. Guarantee you we will.

Looks like a draft-time decision. Pending on Ennis /Capela still being there at 22

Why on earth do you think that drafting Ennis would have an effect on signing Lowry or Vasquez ? If anything it would mean not signing De Colo.

I starting to sound like a broken record but I will say it one more time...

The 20th pick is not likely to start season as a rotation player, and likely to not have any effect on who we sign.

This team is not in tank mode. Casey is not going to give a rookie minutes unless he earns them and even then he is going to limit their minutes because he doesn't trust rookies.

Masai is going to sign and or trade for guys to fill out the top 8-9 rotation spots. Masai is trying to bring back all of our main free agents. This will happen regardless of the draft !

20th pick people, lower your freaking expectations already

For the cap gurus here. If we do this trade and keep Hansborough, and then resign Lowry, Pat, and GV, will we still have our MLE to play with?

Why wouldn't we? Don't only tax-repeaters lose their MLE or something? Or are you asking whether the MLE would take us over the tax?

Unless I am mistaken (feel free to correct) yes we have MLE... But how much the MLE is depends on where we are in relationship to cap and luxury tax.

If Bachynski is there at 59, why not just let him slide and then invite him to Summer League? We'd be better off taking a Euro stasher.
