Didnt we have 3 first round picks in 2017? You have to cash in our assets at some point. Don't think of it as moving up 2 spots, think of it as trading for the PG that we wanted. It doesnt matter what position he was selected, it just matters that someone else selected him and we had to give up an asset to get him.

For this next current season. Seems this team is going to struggle to score... I still believe the Magic will get a star PG during free-agency when its all said and done.
But again, this draft for the Magic has been VERY solid.
I think Vuc, Dipo, Harris and The Fournicater can pick up the load. Only if Harris starts though.

yeah its a perfect fit...
Aaron is a Athletic and Defensive Four who can at times alternate with the Three. Just like Tobias can Alternate with the Four. Pretty much depending on the defensive match-ups...

Was Denver going to take Payton at 11, or was somebody going to move up to get him? Otherwise, this makes no sense.

Im sure this wasn't pre-planned. Philly knew that we wanted Payton and no one else so they took him and dangled him to us for an extra asset. They had power of position over us and they used it.

Re: Official Draft Thread 3: Picks #4 and #12
Gordon was a shock, but the more I think about it the more it makes sense as a Hennigan pick: he's a high motor, athletic guy with great intangibles. Exactly what people said about Oladipo last year.
Also have a feeling Gordon doing the dirty work is gonna free Tobes to Tobes it up all over the place next year.
Also have a feeling we're getting our star through free agency. Likely not this offseason, but soon.

So far this draft has been great for the Magic. They got their future starting SF in Gordon, who can also play some PF in smaller lineups. They also got VO a running mate in Payton (it isn't Exum, but Payton was the 2nd guard that I wanted behind him). The AA trade was big time because they bring in a younger player with tremendous upside and at a fraction of the cost. The only thing that hasn't happened tonight that I thought would happen is the trading of Nelson for a pick and player. That may still happen though.

I'm under the impression gordon is more of a 3 that cant shoot than a 4. He's more of a perimeter defender than a rim protector
