Have no clue about the dude, but fact that no one else apperentely did either is very intriguing. Bold move, must of been worried about San Antonio or some other late first round team sniffing around

To be fair, I've heard that he questions your eye for talent.

Didn't you guys always say draft the BPA?

We all are not professional scouts.

I actually like this move and it shows Masai is thinking long term instead of believing this fool's gold that last year's line up is champion calibre

situation reminds me of Ross - people weren't mad about him so much as him coming at #8, ahead of Drummond, etc. seemed like an obvious trade down. this seemed like an obvious 2nd round pick.

lets just pretend the Spurs were going to take him if we didn't.

Don't know anything about him so won't comment. Hope it works out. If he is a total bust, Ujiri needs to leave. Don't need another GM using toronto as an experimental franchise. But again, hoping for the best.

One thing is for certain, we picked a second rounder with our first round pick because Masai thought he wouldn't be there with our 37th pick. Chance he might not even come over right away.

Ujiri is either going to look like a genius or we just witnessed the dumbest pick in the history of the NBA.

FU MU
You could have had this guy at 37 or maybe even 59 or next year.
This is why FA will never come here we have GMs that do this!

Rodney Hood a proven long wing top 5 shooter at combine is sitting there and was projected at ~15 and we get some guy that won't be ready for at least 2 years!
We are in win now mode, all the a East is stepping forward we are stepping back.
Hood needs to get stronger which is easy and better on D. Fu€K that's why you hired Casey to coach F'ing D

How anyone can be pissed is mystifying. Youngest player in the draft, excellent athlete, great height/wingspan. You guys don't think they scouted him like crazy? You would rather have them settle for something average. Masai reaches for the sky, love him.

because he didn't draft a guy that you saw some in some youtube clips and read about on Draftexpress? Get a grip already

The 20th pick historically doesn't turn into much of anything, swinging for the fences is exactly what the Raptors should be doing.

There was a lot of chatter before the draft about teams in the later first picking guys to stash overseas. I'm wondering if this is the case with this kid? Maybe he's still under contract? If so, Ujiri took this kid knowing full well there was another plan to address gaps on this squad. There has to be something else in the works.
