Re: Raptors Draft Bruno Caboclo
Pretty happy with the pick. Was shocked at first, but they say he can shoot it and has a 7'7 wingspan. Looked at some videos and he was "GreekFreakin" it up.
Its the twentieth pick. Calm your panties.
IN MASAI I TRUST

Jonas was projected to be a lotto pick in 2011 and there was plenty of footage of him. There's barely any for Bruno.
Basketball is like poetry in motion, cross the guy to the left, take him back to the right, he's fallin back, then just J right in his face. Then you look at him and say, "What?" - Jesus Shuttlesworth

Ive been a big Masai supporter from day 1. But this is was an inexcusable decision. So much value left on the board. Ughh so frustrated..and you know this doesnt make sway Lowry's decision.
Picking anyone at 20 wouldn't sway Lowry's decision.

multiple draft host who actually works/worked in the NBA community have said so on live television. I guess that is more credible than someone random forum dweller who is questioning other's sources.

This guy averaged 4.9 PPG in a Brazilian league... Imagine if he even played in NCAA, he would get killed. In the NBA? Forget about it.

Re: Raptors Draft Bruno Caboclo
I can't really comment on the pick because I've never heard of or seen Bruno play.
The one bright side is that Masai clearly went for his perception of upside. Can't knock him for that. The pick may end up looking like a waste, but I'd rather Ujiri pick a guy he feels can be an impact player than someone whose floor and ceiling is a role player. The Raptors need to hit home runs, not singles. Again, I've never heard of this guy, so I can't comment on whether the pick is good or not, but if Masai thought he had the highest upside of anyone available, then it is what it is.

I don't believe he will ever have the skill level to be a superstar, so this isn't even a "home run" pick.

Re: Raptors Draft Bruno Caboclo
A lot of no foresight "in the box" posts going on here, so ...
Is it better to take a chance on a top potential player or get a "Norris Cole" level filler pick?
Why not wait till second round to get him to get him? He could have been scouted by other teams and possibly taken by someone like San Antonio at the 30th pick.
For the players at pick 20, any filler pick there is not much less of a gamble than anything they can try to get at the 37th pick position where they can try another shot on a lesser gamble.
Level 20 pick players from the last few years can be picked up in a trade or for a low contract, why spend your pick on them.
Manu Ginobli 57th pick, Tony Parker 28th pick ... maybe Masai is learning things from teams that draft well instead of just following the old US college playbook.
All things considered, what is wrong with him trying to hit a home run.

Re: Raptors Draft Bruno Caboclo
Those who complain why we are not drafting him at #37 or later.
What if we have a better prospect at #37 who is better than Caboclo (better without being notice as well)?
