With lots of cap space, I am looking forward to free agents for our stars. Go Magic!

A lot of unhappy folks.

I wanted exum too, but this is too funny.

I was shocked at first when Silver called Gordon's name to us at #4 but It is growing on me. I was angry and yelled at the tv when Philly took Payton then jubilation when the trade was announced. We will have some nasty defense with these young guys. Payton and Oladipo will provide co-playmaking and great backcourt defense. Gordon will provide great defense on SFs as well as PFs. Vuc and Harris should now be scoring options 1 and 2 with Oladipo as #3 scorer.

Fournier is underrated as the third guard in the rotation. He is a good shooter and playmaker and has decent defense from what I have seen. We still need more 3 point shooters. Maybe a stretch 4 behind Gordon at PF. Nicholson look like last season he won't pan out. O'Quinn behind Vuc at the 5.

Payton/Jameer
Oladipo/Fournier
Harris/Harkless
Gordon/Nicholson
Vucevic/O'Quinn

Here's Rob talking about both Aaron Gordon and Elfrid Payton:

He can't officially talk about Afflalo-Fournier yet because the deal isn't official.

Wish the first round went as quick as the 2nd is going, it's wayyy too long! Or at least they could stick to the 5 minute time limit, stupid ESPN makes it like 8-10 minutes between picks.

Chad Ford on Payton

The most impressive workout I've seen this draft season came from Payton on Thursday. He has the least exposure of any of the prospects here -- but has as much or more talent as anyone on the floor. Payton had a big year, averaging 19.2 points, 5.9 assists, 2.3 steals and an incredible 8.9 free throws per game -- good for second in the country. Very few players possess his combination of size, quickness, defensive toughness and ability to get to the rim. I've had more than one NBA scout compare him to a young Gary Payton, and I think the comparison is a really good one.

where is the best site that gives the most accurate info on our salaries and cap situation???

I hope we trade or release Jameer to get more cap space. We will have a ton of it.

We got a YouTube scout here guys! Clearly knows more about these prospects than Henny.

MrOrlando wrote:So, I'm not much of a college basketball viewer. I can only believe the hype I hear on the boards. I was shocked we didn't take Exum, because that's who I was lead to believe Orlando would pick. Obviously we had NO idea who Orlando really liked, we can only speculate, and be wrong 100% of the time.

We drafted two positions that we were in desperate need of, PF and PG. The board here seems to love, love, love Payton. Hennigan clearly valued Payton more than Exum. If you loved Exum because he was a "Henny Guy", then you should be even more enamored with Payton, and wash any pain away that you might have for Gordon.

Can someone educate me a little more on Gordon? He seems to be a fantastic athlete, a great defender, and can actually shoot a little bit. Isn't that what we were all looking for? A young, explosive PF who can be the Thunder to Vuc's Lightning?

He's a high character, high motor, high IQ player. He's a great defender and many say he is the best athlete in the draft which is saying a lot with Wiggins and Lavine in this draft.

Enjoy some of his dunk highlights...when he was 16 :o

Excited about the two picks. But goodness do we need a shooter now. Please pick up some shooting at some point.
The hero Orlando deserves is out there somewhere, Dwight was not the one we needed. So we will hunt for him...

Defensively, sure. He does have that potential. But Elfrid is really, really going to have to become a better shooter if he is going to be an upper tier starting point guard. That is one thing that players can improve on, but the fact that he is older and still not great at it is concerning.

What good will it do us when Gordon shoots FT at 42% and Payton at 59%?

Obviously they're both gonna need to get in the gym and work on their shot and FTs but can u imagine if they both develop a decent shot? I'm not saying they're gonna both be knock down shooters but even if they can hit open jumpers we're gonna be a scary team to play cuz we are gonna lock people down and foul out their bigs. I just trust rob & company's judgment and if this the team they wanted to build in down 4 it. Exum couldn't shoot fts either n he was the guy i wanted @ 4.
