What grade would you give your team for the Draft

Post#1 » by RSCD3_ » Fri Jun 27, 2014 4:14 am

After the draft has ended what grade would you give your team for the moves they made and players added from A to F, and if you can go into a brief explanation on why you feel this way.
I came here to do two things: get lost and slice **** up & I'm all out of directions.

F. I don't like who we picked up at all.

Especially when Samoan LeBron James was still available.

Utah A+, I wouldn't never thought they'd be able to get Exum, thought he'd go 3 or 4, and can't believe Robin Hood slid from lottery in mock drafts to #23. We even drafted a good player in the 2nd round in Stokes, but it ended up being a trade to Memphis for a future 2nd round pick, which I'm not sure what that was for, but I'll live.

Magic? I love Payton. I was shocked we picked Gordon, but I really like his attitude and if he can add ANY resemblance of a mid-range jumper (I dont care if its just Ibaka level), his athleticism can do work.

I'll give it a B. I'm not going insane like some Magic fans since we didn't get Exum. Could easily move up or down depending on how it ends up.

Knicks get a B+ for Early alone. Went with Thenasis (I can't spell his last name) at #51, and with the French Connection at #57. Low risk, high reward picks. Would like to see Patric Young in training camp, too.

A+ drafts from:

Philadelphia 76ers (Joel Embiid, Dario Saric, KJ McDaniels, Jerami Grant, Vasilije Milic, & Nemanja Dangubic)

Utah Jazz (Dante Exum, Rodney Hood)

Charlotte Hornets (Noah Vonleh, PJ Hairston, Dwight Powell)

I thought the Celtics, Hawks, Lakers, and Knicks all drafted pretty strong. There are some other teams too, I will go into it more later.

Laughing stock of the night goes to:

Minnesota did horrible by drafting Zach Lavine in the lottery (Why another PG!!??) but made up for it with Glenn Robinson III & Alessandro Gentile. F for Lavine. B- for Glenn & Gentile, levels out to about a C- or a D.

Toronto had the worst draft of the night. Ujiri is a great GM, but his picks were head scratchers. Bruno Caboclo (WHO?) at #20!!?? DeAndre Daniels is a good player, but they don't need any more wing players!!! Should've drafted a PG in the 2nd round. Terrible. I gotta give them a D.

And Raptors fans, don't merk me for saying what I said. I just think you guys could've got a WAY better pick at #20, and you should've got some more PG depth, or bigs to backup Jonas. I just didn't like the picks. Maybe they'll prove me wrong. Ujiri is clearly a beast at what he does.

A for the Knicks. Got a 1st round talent in Early on a 2nd round contract, get an intriguing defensive minded player in Greek Freak 2.0 and some random Euro to stash away for just money.

2 days ago I expected absolutely nothing from this draft, now we randomly got 3 guys, one should contribute, the other will be fun to watch in Summer League/Preseason.

There's nothing I can really detest about the Knicks draft lol.

Wizards: F. If the guys you like are gone, then draft a Eurostash player, or flip your pick for future considerations. Don't sell picks. The best way to generate revenue is to put a competitive product on the floor.

If you're running an NBA franchise in one of the wealthiest regions of the country, and you have to sell basketball assets to make ends meet, you're not doing it right.

Solid A for the Knicks. This draft could have been incredibly depressing considering we almost didn't have any draft picks, but instead we got a really nice player in Early and Giannis's brother. Maybe Early can be our James Posey, or dare I say even Draymond Green.

A+

We got Julia with #7. I thought there was an outside chance that Embiid would somehow slip to us, but I can't complain. I can't believe the Magic took Gordon, though LOL. He might still turn out to be a beast, but damn.

Has to be an A for the Nuggets. Yeah the draft was great, but I never have to watch Anthony Randolph try to play basketball again!!!!

Celtics B. I wanted some combination of Smart/Payton,Gordon/TJ Warren and got one of them. Young has upside is suppose.
