Nelson/Payton/Oladipo
Oladipo/Fornier/Marble
Parsons/Harkless/Tobias
Gordon/(6th man)Tobias/Nicholson
Vuc/KO/Frye

Gives us the shooting boost we need on the perimiter and another potential all star. It's time to start spending some money.. we can probably get Parsons for 10-13 mil a year I would give him 4yrs 48 million

Guys come on, Nelson is not starting for us next year.

And you know this.. How?

Athletically he most definitely is, he's a much better defender than Blake, however he is not nearly as talented on the offensive side

Just one question, how do you shoot 42% from the line? That makes shaq look like mark price

It might be more of a mental thing for him because apparently he was shooting at a 45% clip from down town when he was playing the 3. I don't think he will be a terrible free throw shooter in the league, he just needs a little coaching and I think he will be fine.

Wow, surprising draft. I really liked Peyton and was pissed when we drafted Saric. Came home to find out we'd moved Saric for Peyton. Great move. The Aaron Gordon pick surprised the hell out of me. I saw less of him than Exum. Completely out of the dark. I'm looking at some old tape and it's promising. Not a huge fan of his height, but hopefully he grows another inch.

So I'm assuming our front office didn't feel Exum was worth the #4 pick; we probably over-hyped him a bit.

Youngest player in the draft so maybe he still has some growth left in him. Hitting the weight room will be vital.

Same with Smart - they must have been disappointed he didn't improve after staying in school... either that or their desire for him last year was exaggerated and/or they really wanted gordon.

i think the magic wanted to come away with a PF and PG

the logic of going big first makes sense, the PF's really drop off after the top 3, so it was a matter of the best pick.

vonleh is not considered close to being ready, randle is fairly 1 dimensional, so picking gordon makes sense. everyone here has been saying we need an athletic defender next to vucci, but then magic fans complain when we do it?  he's probably going to be a double double player, and if he ever develops a jump shot he's got all star potential. big part of todays game is guarding pick and roll and he does it as well. he had the best shuttle run time in the entire draft, so he's big, athletic and has quick feet.

trading for payton makes all the sense in the world, he posted big rebounding and free throw attempt numbers for a PG which indicates potentially a big time athlete, his testing scores at the combine were right there with exum and smart, and payton looks like he's a natural PG. love this pick
aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

If we run at some point,

Jameer
Oladipo
Harris
Gordon
Vucevic

Harris would become what we all want him to be, our primary scorer. Oladipo goes back to his days in Indiana. Peyton runs the offense. Harris and Vucevic learn how to run the p&r. On the defensive side we completely lock down the 1,2,4 positions and disrupt half court offensive sets with our guard play.

Bring Fournier, Harkless, Nelson off the bench (eventually). If Fournier doesn't produce, we need a shooting 2 guard and have Nicholson out shooting 3s as backup PF.

Yeah, of course Blake is slightly bigger and more of a pure PF. But to me Gordon actually handles the ball like a guard. If he and Harris are on the floor at the same time (which they will be, especially to close games) I see him playing the SF for this reason. To me he's like the SF version Griffin.

Henny picks very conservatively. Ask anyone who is successful in business, without taking risks, you are minimizing your gain. Baring luck, Henny won't be a GM whose team wins a championship.

"Aaron Gordon will cost Henny's job by Dec 2016." Predicted Dec 2014.

"O'Quinn will have a longer and more successful NBA career than Nicholson." Predicted Jun 2012. Verified on Dec 2014.

Would of preferred take exum and use aa 12 and whatever to move up for vonleh, Gordon or Randle.

Do we have anyone who can make a 3?

WE NEED TO FIRE HENNY RIGHT AWAY AND HIRE THIS GUY BECAUSE MY GOSH HE REALLY KNOWS WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT!!!! HOW THE F CAN U SAY YOU TRUST HENNY THEN SAY EVERYONE OF HIS MOVES SUCKED?!?! GOD THIS BOARD IS A DISGRACE TODAY! HENNY HAS DONE NOTHING BUT GIVE EVIDENCE THAT HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING BUT MOST OF YOU JUST WANT TO BITCH

I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

Aaron Gordon is a really great defender but he isn't the best post defender out there and I think he will struggle to defend the post in the NBA. He got knocked around sometimes in college last year defending the post, but he does excel guarding the wing and I think that's where he makes his mark next season.

I have been wrong in Henny 3 times ( Dwight trade , JJ trade and Vic pick ).

He proved m,e wrong all those times so i'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that his pick in Gordon would justify his decision as always.

Hennigan surprised us at 12:45 a.m. with an appearance. Most of the media had left thinking we wouldn't see him until tomorrow's (Friday's) 3:30 p.m. press conference.

I actually don't quite see it that way. I think it was more the combination of the two picks being better than Exum, plus whatever they could have gotten at 12 to plug the defensive hole in the middle.

Seriously??? This is absolutely stupid how many risks did the Spurs take?? You win by getting players that can play and play together well. Henny has taken risks. He traded Dwight for a bunch of picks that everyone thought would be late rounders one turned out to be a lottery in the most stocked draft ever. Are u saying trading JJ for Tobias wasnt a risk? How about taking Vuc and Harkless over Bynum who was coming off a very good year. You are only saying he doesnt take risks because he didnt take some overhyped over publicized Australian player. Hell last year he made the only pick in the top 8 that is actually looking like an allstar player give me a **** break this board is raving mad.
