Ahh I got so many different feels about the draft, but I think I like it.

I was heartbroken when we passed up Exum. Henny must've thought Payton was just as good and Gordon was way too intriguing to pass up. I am a big fan of Gordon though, he's definitely a player that fits in our culture, but I'm still shocked we took him at 4.

Payton!! Man I was so pissed when the Sixers took him, I thought we were destined for Tyler Ennis, and was ready to call this draft a bust. Man, the Sixers really got Henny by picking him, hated we had to give up extra to get him but really happy we got him. Payton is a stud!!

I think Jameer is definitely coming back now, mentor Payton and a much needed shooter. We really need to get more shooting but what position are we going for? We got depth at every position now. Our team is crazy young too, dont know what vets we can bring in either.

I'm really excited for the season, now finally some sleep!!

I wonder if the organization is gonna make Payton cut his hair? I hope not. Dude's scalp is home to a glorious fro. I want that to be his visual trademark, much like Anthony Davis's marvelous unibrow.

After this draft, I've even warmed up more to the Fournier trade as well. Fournier, Oladipo, Harris, and Vucci are going to be unleashed offensively.

Payton/Nelson
Oladipo/Fournier
Harris/Harkless
Gordon/Nicholson
Vucci/O'quinn

Tons of cap space and assets, let's go.

All I know is that I'm REALLY looking forward to the Summer League to see these guys ball!

Also now that it's over I really wanted Embiid since we have Vucevic he could've sat out the yr etc but hey, we have who we have so let's support em and see what they can do.

Also to those disappointed in not getting the 1st pick, if you look at like:

Gordon/Payton/Fournier vs Parker

It's not a bad outcome. We'll definitely be better next year than we would've been with just Parker alone.

Gordon/Payton/Fournier vs Wiggins + 1st rounder

I like what we have as we fill holes in each positions.

the last 10-15 minutes or so are basically spent on gordon and payton
aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

The 1st round pick was the sixes pick from the D12 trade. So it wasn't that bad

So, who were we trying to move to #1 for? Wiggins? Parker?
Or was it all BS?

I assume it was all BS. They interviewed Cleveland's GM and he said all the media reports were bogus. He said they did discuss trading #1, but not anything close to what the media was reporting.

Love their attitudes... I wanted exum, but I'm buying into the henny plan. He knows something the world doesn't.

This logic makes no sense. If some1 posted on Internet that Orlando should draft Gordon at #4 over exum, you'd call them stupid or a troll. But now that henigan drafted him, you'll support the decision? That makes no sense. I'm noticing this in particular from NBA fans, especially from this site.

I remember some1 posted a trade similar to Afflalo for Fournier and he got flamed hard by Orlando posters. So what's next...the same posters flip flop and say "I hate the trade, but In rob we trust!"

And no I'm not here to debate if Orlando made good picks/trades. I'm not an NBA scout. I'm referring to what you said. You said "I wanted exum, but I'm buying into henny's plan." That makes logically no sense. Think about that for a second...

Anyone think our 2nd round pick Roy Marble will make the team?

It's an NBA thing. Remember "fan" is short for fanatic. And NBA fans NBA has by far the biggest fanatics. By a landslide.

I've already seen some posters that got angry initially when Orlando took Gordon over exum, now all of a sudden support the decision for no other reason besides "in rob we trust!"

I think it's a combination of NBA fans being diehard supporters and lacking use of logic.

So we take Gordon at #4 and trade #12 for #10 and take Payton. There's likely a good chance had we taken Exum at #4 we could have traded up for Vonleh . So it appears that we preferred Gordon/Payton to Exum/Vonleh. I would have preferred Exum/Vonleh, but then again I'm not an NBA scout or GM. At this point we have to just trust that Rob and his guys know what they're doing. Time will tell.

Gordon is a fantastic specimen, he can dunk, play defense, plays hard, can block shots, and has that high motor that we love. He's not a great scorer but the kid is ONLY EIGHTEEN! He's three years younger then me. On the downside, he is completely raw on offense other then dunking, so pretty Dwight Howard when he was here lol.

Elfrid on the other hand impresses me more. I see a better version of Rajon Rondo with him (I know I may be overrating). This kid is going to be fantastic for us.

We have our core set, Elfrid Payton Jr, Victor Oladipo, Tobias Harris, Aaron Gordon, and Nikola Vucevic.

except that Gordon can handle the ball a lot better than Dwight ever has. And is a decent passer.

be careful there, everything I have read is that teams were calling up Denver at 11 to take Payton, thinking as I would that Philly wouldnt take him. Henny did the trade to have Philly take Payton, Philly didnt just take him to fleece us. Giving them back their pick was just the cost of doing business with them. And with the Bynum trade fiasco, i am ok with giving them their pick back.

We'll see how this turns out, but a lot of redundancy on the front line. I see another move coming in the next few weeks.

Initially I didn't like the pick of Aaron Gordon because I personally rated him behind Exum and Smart. However, after getting Payton and taking time to reflect on the overall draft I'm happier because Payton was the PG I wanted if we didn't draft Exum or Smart and I liked Gordon more than Vonleh or Randle.

I was surprised when I heard who was drafted. I would have preferred Exum.
However, that was only a feeling. I don't know what Exum or Gordon can do.
But I like Payton a lot, from what I had read.

But in my opinion we have on each position players who complement each other very well.
I think Rob is looking in the next weeks for a FA like Parsons and will look for a big fish in 2015.

We're being built like the Chicago Bulls. I say Gordon/Payton was initiated by Lloyd.
