Wolves get a solid B from me. Lavine I really like, he was the guy I was hoping for at 13 if we didn't move up at all (which I didn't expect unless we dealt Love, but we still would have likely kept #13). I think he has tremendous upside and has that "homerun" type potential, which is what we need to be looking for imo. Glen Robinson I thought was a tremendous pickup at 40 as well. I always thought he'd go in the late 1st, so to see us come away with him was awesome.

I get there wasn't anyone willing to offer a 2nd next year or anything for our 2nd's that we dealt, but I really am bummed that we dealt them for money just for the hell of it really. IDK. Not that huge of deal, but still.

I guess around A. Now Jimmer have to learn how to play defense and Bulls might have a chance to beat someone in first round thats not bad.

D+. I'm ok with picking McGary but I thought we could have got him at 29. I don't get the Huestis pick at all. He's not really fast enough to play SG and we already have Perry Jones III as a 3 who can play D unless McGary will play Center and Jones will be a stretch 4. That doesn't solve the problem of having no one on our bench outside of Jackson who can score though.

i like both the thunder's picks. collison is wearing down. mcgary can eventually step into his role imo. he's tough, physical, passes well. awesome PnR target if any of the thunder's guards ever figures out to play a 2 man game not involving KD.

huestis was one of my 2nd round sleepers. i think he'll make roberson irrelevant. i think he'll be the guy they thought that they were getting with roberson. he's bigger stronger, just as athletic IMO. he also has more potential as a spot up shooter. he has re-worked his form (he's got a pretty form now) and he supposedly looked spectacular in workouts.

pj3 is nothing to worry about. he's barely an nba player.

you're right about the lack of scorers off the bench thing though.

passing hood wasn't great but how was Adams as awful as a selection as they made it out to be on tv ?
Picked up Stokes who looks like a nice 2nd pick. future 2nd for the 35th is pretty good value imho .

i give it a b- only because i think both these guys can help out pretty quick even if they don't have the highest ceilings .

could have been a b+ if we snagged Shabazz and pulled off the cha side of the heat trade getting adams(our main target) alongs with some 2nds all the while paying adams less. Oh well cha cleaned house and got the guys they wanted while picking picks and most GM should take lessons .

Oh, it was a brilliant draft for us! We used our pick to acquire Corey Maggette and it gave us the opportunity to sign Josh Smith and Brandon Jen.....Oh, ****!

I have been saying it since I watched Gordon play at the U-19 in Prague - this guy is the real deal. Seriously. Yeah, he's got shooting issues, but I believe they can be fixed; it's not a fundamental **** like Drummond or DeAndre Jordan - this guy can become a reasonable shooter. He'll get his FT% above 60, and get a few spots where he can hit a 3 when needed.

But the main thing is, this is a guy who knows how to play basketball. I know that sounds silly, but there is something innate that some players have, that others don't. This guy has it. His passing, his timing, his defensive instincts, all of the things in basketball that aren't shooting - he has them. They are part of him.

Shooting can be worked on, but all those other things are very hard to 'teach'. I see this guy as being Shawn Marion 2.0.

I don't know anything about Payton, but the Oladipo/Gordon combo gives you intangibles through the stratosphere.

SOUL wrote:Magic? I love Payton. I was shocked we picked Gordon, but I really like his attitude and if he can add ANY resemblance of a mid-range jumper (I dont care if its just Ibaka level), his athleticism can do work.

I'll give it a B. I'm not going insane like some Magic fans since we didn't get Exum. Could easily move up or down depending on how it ends up.

I agree a B. With our 2nd pick, i dont see anything that Smart/Exum do that Payton cant. All 3 need to work on their jump shot, but Payton is compared favorably to Rondo. I can see the comparison and hope it is true.

As for Gordon, Magic needed help defensively, so with his high motor, if he can do that dirty work at first, while working on his jumper, i will be happy. I believe he is also one of the youngest players in the draft at 18, so it is very possible be grows another inch or 2 and is 6'10+ish by 20 which would be awesome. If not, i hope he watches a lot of tapes on Shawn Marion, which i can see him as.

If this draft is all about making Lebron happy we did well

As for fit, if the big three are there Napier is a great fit offensively, good long range shooter and decision maker. He could be what Chalmers was supposed to be if Chalmers didn't have idiot syndrome and actually played to his limited strengths.

He will never be a top defender, but u hope he develops into a good system defender.

Incomplete for the Raptors.

The Durant comparison is ridiculous. Stop that.

Casey saw him work out and says he reminds him of when Rashard Lewis came into the league as a high schooler. I really like that comparison. He's obviously a lot longer and not as talented a shooter, but projects to be a much more consistent shooter.

A. We found a player that can actually contribute to a contending team.

The thing about it is that Randolph has some damn good skills, he could be a very good basketball player, but he still tries to hard and makes a ton of stupid mistakes trying to do to much when the game is undecided. If a team could find someone with his skill set but smarter that could be a pretty good player, especially for a pick taken at 20.

i like mcdermott the prospect, but i didn't like trading 16 and 19 given the talent available there.
i do like bairstow though and think he'll make the team.

How do you feel about it if you think of it as a potential trade piece to the Knicks for Carmelo. I heard some rumors about this and feel like he would fit well within the triangle
