England doesn't have the wingers right now to play that way, what england does have is central guys and a 4-3-1-2 that United should've been playing all year would cater to that. Pair Sturridge and Rooney up top, go with Wilshere, Gerard and Henderson or Milner/Lallana in a midfield trio with Sterling, Ox or Barkley as the ten, although dropping Rooney back to that spot and playing Welbeck or using Lallana as the ten would work to. Might be able to build some actual attacking movements then and win the midfield battle.
We might not have the wingers to do it, but considering how poor our FBs are we needed those wide players.
