Feghouli will play the sh*t out of Höwedes.

That said, we will still advance.

Prolly the biggest mismatch of the upcoming round. Algeria will torch our fullbacks, but in Müller we trust. :D

Edit: I expect about 37634893 stories about the Gijon collusion scandal of the 1982 WC, when GER and AUT shafted ALG. Well, after not colluding with the US today, the tabloid heat should be tolerable.

would love nothing more than algeria taking revenge from the cheaters but they are just terrible technically outside of set pieces.

In my objective opinion, Germany will win 7 - 1.

This is Germany in the knockouts. They may win this by 3 or 4 goals.

Will be interesting to see how our centre back defense will work against those fast and tricky Algerian wings.
I hope we'll try to control the game like we did against the US and create some chances with solid set up play.
We shouldn't start Podolski again, who didn't make the needed runs on the wings and is useless in a built up play were technical abilities are needed.

I also think that this is the one were Klose scores his 16th WC goal and we'll move on with a 3-1 victory.

@LittleOzzy:
Could we please sticky those threads for the round of 16?

I like both teams, and love what Vahid Halilhodzic has done with Algeria, but Germany just has too much talent. 3-1 Nationalmannschaft

Bentaleb summons the spirit of his spiritual father Tim Sherwood and gets sent off giving away a penalty in the 89th minute, giving Germany the victory.

Any chance Halilhodzic leaves Algeria after this tournament? Bosnia needs a new coach after Susic played his nephew and some kid who his brother is the agent to.

Tino-Sven was pretty good in the final game, but yea Susic is leaving. Halihodzic is gonna coach Trabzonspor, and Dusan Bajevic is the favorite to get the coaching job with Bosnia.

Just hope that Algeria can make it competitive.

Like Turkey did in 2008 against the Germans with nearly all their main guys being suspended.
Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Kevin Garnett, Toni Kroos, Pep Guardiola, Ernst Happel, Joachim Löw.

Apparently, a powerful Algerian imam allowed the players to eat and drink on gameday, citing that "travellers and hardworking folk" are exempt, and their team fits this bill. Good for them, I would hate to see an Algerian player cramp up or even pass out.

Yeah, Germany had an Egyptian imam do the same a couple of years ago. I think Switzerland did it too.

Just right. Didnt want to have an religious advantage, we have enough of that on the pitch. We should be allowed to beat them at their full strength, what we eventually will do.

Germany will be without centre back Mats Hummels in this one.

His replacement isn't yet known.
It could either be Shkodran Mustafi, which would send Boateng at centre back, or it could be Erick Durm.
If Durm gets the nod then Boateng would play next to Mertesacker with Höwedes playing at RB and Durm at LB.

Lukas Podolski will also miss this one.
