B. Cetics got some all right replacements for Rondo and Bradley when they are traded or walk away as free agents. Nothing spectacular, but I'm content with it.

Re: What grade would you give your team for the Draft
B+
I have a lot of confidence in our GM and his team to scout talent. They've found some good players in the NBA who were buried on the bench and have drafted well in the past. I was as shocked as everyone when the Magic picked Aaron Gordon, but it's easy to see how he fits the vision of the team.
I was an Exum proponent, but it's hard for me to argue for or against a player when all we have are YouTube highlight clips of him. I'm not going to question our front office's assessment of the kid, but I get the impression that they were more enamored with Elfrid Payton. In that case, I really don't mind reaching for Gordon at #4 (which isn't a crazy reach since he was slotted to go 5th by DraftExpress).
Our team had 2 holes coming into the draft: PG and PF. I believe we fulfilled both. I give it a B+ because of the Sixers trade. We basically got strong-armed into having to give the Sixers their 1st round pick back for Elfrid Payton. It doesn't particularly bother me that much given all the protections it was laced with, but it was still an asset. Overall though, I'm pretty satisfied.

Whether Gordon turns out to be the best player in the draft or not, Orlando could have EASILY moved back and picked up an additional pick for Exum. Utah may have done 5+23, I highly doubt Utah wanted anyone else but Exum after 3.
Trading for Payton is the only reason I'm not giving Orlando a C. Big fan of his game, and I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be the best pg in this draft.

I'll give it a B. I'm not going insane like some Magic fans since we didn't get Exum. Could easily move up or down depending on how it ends up.
I agree 100% with this

hmmm, we can "easily" move back because Utah "may" have offered up something else. Or it just as probable that Utah/Boston/LA said no thanks to moving up and were happy with whoever fell their way and we were just stuck.

Jazz fan: A to A+.
There was so much talk (I'm going to assume it was *never* true) about us forking over half our assets to move up. We stayed put and let steals fall to us at both our slots.
I expected to come out of this with Vonleh and Hairston (and would have been quite happy with that too) but the team exceeded even that.

Raptors: A
Drafted upside matched only by Embiid and Wiggins.
YES WE DID.

B+ for Napier, if he's good enough to starter minutes this season.

i like mcdermott the prospect, but i didn't like trading 16 and 19 given the talent available there.
i do like bairstow though and think he'll make the team.
How do you feel about it if you think of it as a potential trade piece to the Knicks for Carmelo. I heard some rumors about this and feel like he would fit well within the triangle
i don't think about that. he was garpax's man, he was thibs' man. they zeroed in on him, gave up more assets to get him, because they wanted him for this roster. if someone has to go, it won't be him.

Why would you want Randle? I think Vonleh is a better prospect AND he fits in much better, IMO

Vonleh is a much, much better fit but I think that Randle will be the better player, I always want us to draft BPA.
That said, I hope I'm wrong and Vonleh is much better.
Personally I think either of these two bigs would have been great for Orlando.

Re: What grade would you give your team for the Draft
I go with a -B for the Magic
Hated the Gordon pick with Exum still on the board, but I can understand why we did it. We needed a PF and a PG, if we took Exum or Smart 1st then we wouldn't have gotten a good PF that late. Taking a good PF early enables us to get a good PG prospect too.
Not a fan of the way Hinkie played us, but then again the protections on that pick were so bad it was most likely not going to be a good pick anyways. IF Payton turns into what Henny thinks he is, our PG of the future then it was a good deal.
I wonder if Henny knew Vonleh was going to slip so much would he have grabbed Exum early and tried to move up to grab Vonleh.

Sixers had the best draft of the night. They took a flyer on Embiid, but drafted very SOLID everywhere else. They had a TON of picks, and every pick was a good pick for it's spot. I am not a Sixers fan whatsoever, and I have been highly critical of them over the past few years, and questioned a lot of their draft moves last season, but Carter-Williams proved to be a very good player, and I think Noel will be great too.
Who is gonna score on a Embiid/Noel/Young frontcourt???
The guy that Young is guarding.

I don't want my PF to be defensive liability, and that is what Randle projects to IMO, Vonleh will be a plus defender, no way he doesn't turn into a better player than Randle.

I think Randle will beast the paint offensively at any level, he's also not a terrible defender, average yes but terrible no; he plays pretty well positionally in the post and is as strong as an ox.

"May" to the 23rd pick, I still believe some other form of value if not that would have been added.

Bulls B+
McDermott will be able to contribute right away with the bulls. If you land Melo an bring over Mirotic, you have 3 elite 3pt shooters on your team spacing the floor out. McDermott will have a nice career in Chicago. Thibs got to see him up close vs team USA. Tells you something.

I was shocked when I heard Bruno's name going to the Raptors as a 1st round pick. Most brazilians thought that he would be a good gamble as a mid to late 2nd round pick. Nobody expected him to be a 1st round pick at all.
Anyway, I wish him the best and I will be watching Toronto games once Bruno starts playing
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”
