Offical Summer League Thread

Post#1 » by Blkbrd671 » Fri Jun 27, 2014 9:48 am

Since the next step is summer league, lets get this started.

Anyone know the dates of the SL, i believe we are playing in Orlando.

I'm bummed Dwindie won't be playing, but i'm curious to see what KCP, Siva and Mitchel look like

Pretty sure it starts on the 5th.

big for KCP to step up here and stand out after being in the league a season already. See it decently often where a player coming into his second year dominates at summer league and then continues on to have a breakout year. This will be a big test to see if pope has what it takes to be our starting SG.

Overall there wont be much going on here though. Magic are really the only team with any sort of high picks. Wonder if Dipo plays, would be fun to see Payton, Dipo, Gordon combo early. Philly would be fun if noel plays + and maybe MCW plays, but then embiid and probably saric wont be playing, so just a collection of 2nd rounders. Celtics will have marcus smart, but the rest of the teams are contenders who dont have much care for developing young players.

Hopefully he'll be this years Reggie Jackson.

Detroit will need to fill a lot of roster spots for the summer league team, as KCP, Siva and Mitchell will be the Pistons only players there that are under contract. Dinwiddie will be there, but won't play.

This may be an opportunity to get a look at some of the players that went undrafted last night.

Hpefully the Pistons can use their lack of first and Dinwiddie unable to play to their advantage here when snagging undrafted players to fill out the roster. We'll have Siva, Mitchell and KCP as the only rostered players on our SL squad, and Peyton and Tony have far from guaranteed spots come the 2014-2015 season themselves.

Did Patric Young end up anywhere?

It will be really fun to see how Dinwiddie and KCP play together, they could be the backcourt of our future.

Edit: I guess Dinwiddie won't be playing at the summer league because of his injury recovery.

We need to sign some decent undrafted FA's just to fill the Grand Rapids Drive's roster.....

Could be another nice angle to lure some guys our way for the Summer League.

Yes, he ended up a free agent.

I'd definitely like to see Detroit get him in for summer league.

Apparently Tristan Spurlock of Central Florida is confirmed for the Pistons summer league roster.

I watched a "highlight" video of him, doesn't look like more than roster filler.

Langlois tweeted something about expect more international players on the Pistons squad and that we;d recognize some of the names. Don't know if he meant foreign born players or US players playing overseas.

No definite word on whether KCP will be there, I see.

Good to hear. I assumed he would be there, but I couldn't recollect whether he was scheduled to be there with Siva and Mitchell.
