Would anyone be willing to trade Rex for McLemore?

Kemba - McLemore - MKG - Vonleh - Big Al

Thomas - Staukas - Gay - Rex - Cousins

Kind of makes sense for both teams, doesn't it?

I would do it. Yes McLemore sucked but he is on the Kings, I will be interested to see if it bring Staus down.

McLemore was horrid. Id rather keep Zeller and see if he can put on enough muscle/strength to be a center down the line.

Obviously I'm a huge Zeller fan, but I'm a huge McLemore fan also.

Either way, they'll be alright.

McLemore will feast with Al in the paint imo.

Not a big Cody fan, but do you guys realize how bad Ben was last year? No way would I do that.

The Kings with Cousins, Gay and Thomas are a horrible fit for any new player trying to gain experience and build confidence through repetition. They're not exactly the ideal cast to set up their teammates or set up a player for success. That's a very selfish squad. If you judge McLemore's rookie campaign you really have to take them into account. Vonleh/McLemore could be better than Zeller/Stauskas but we're years away from being able to judge the merits of either combination.

Neal + Zeller for McLemore and Ray McCallum does it for me. Purely a move based on fit (McCallum looked like a fine backup PG last season), but if we can't find a better trade, I'd make it.

We're discussing (disgusting) trades for Ben McLemore now?

Since we realized we are stuck with Gerald, Zeller became the one we all want to trade for some odd reason

I watched footage of the Kings GM after the draft. Their coach supposedly wanted Stauskas going back to last season. All the rumors about them trading their pick came from other orgs. They wanted to see if Nik would be there at 8 and when he was they refused to deal Nik for any offers of multiple picks from other teams (I suspect Bulls + Suns). They were all over Nik Stauskas and plan to play him as a combo guard with McLemore and with the PG. They said they need shooters and playmakers and they're stockpiling talent.

They even considered moving up to "a little" which leads me to believe to 6 with the Celtics. They were worried about the Celtics taking Nik but imo the Celtics held the pick, refusing to trade down to 8 because they felt Smart would go to the Lakers so the Celtics had to stay put at 6. So anyways, they said they love McLemore's potential still and aren't shopping him. Last year they again explored every possibility frantically to draft up and take him and he fell in the laps, just like Stauskas.

Something major needs to be done about Henderson and the SG spot.

It's got to be Lance Stephenson, not a trade for McLemore - he's not going anywhere.

I'm not opposed to trading Zeller for the 'right' package, but McLemore in any return from the Kings just isn't it. I get shivers just thinking about how much of a rusty robot with it's head chopped off McLemore look like on the floor; can't play defense and his shot isn't that much better than Kemba's on a bad day

Come on, you have to attribute some of his failures to the system. I think he would hit open shots here and Clifford would get some Defense out of him (or he wouldn't play).

I won't give no player a pass when I was told he'd be better than Ray Allen aka 'The Best Shooter in NBA History'

Well I remember that but I never agreed with it. That is thrown around too often, even Beal shouldn't get that tag and he is a fine young player.

Eric Gordon

Post#675 » by HoustonPelicans » Sat Jun 28, 2014 4:05 pm

Pelican fan here. I was wondering if you all would be interested in Eric Gordon? He's brings scoring, 3pt shooting, and a shot creator. Looking at y'all roster it looks like you all need a sg and backup pg.

Would you all do Eric Gordon and Brian Roberts for Gary Neal and a 2nd rd pick?

We're not interested. Only would've been interested if he were a expiring contract in 2015, and although he has a player option for that summer, I'm absolutely positively sure that he'll opt into that $15 million for 2016

What if for the deal to go down, Gordon agrees to opt out after next season?

Eric Gordon and his agent would have to be out of their minds to contractually agree to such, but if they did, yes, I would probably agree to it barring Charlotte not being able to lure Lance Stephenson

I'd need a first round pick (or a similar value player) to take on that contract, but y'all don't have a 1st to offer. Gordon and Ryan Anderson (traded to a third team for a 1st round pick) for Henderson and Neal would be my offer.
