I don't expect PJ to start much if any this year. But one thing he does allow is for Cliff to pull the a starting wing at literally any time he feels. Like it. Hendo or Lance jacking up bad shots? PJ is going in.

I think PJ's lack of quickness and subpar D will prevent him from being a starter, maybe ever. He's got to get in shape and work hard. Maybe.

I'd be shocked if he starts at all next year, unless we have injuries. He has starter potential, though I see him fitting in best as a 6th man scorer off the bench longterm.

He was actually a pretty solid defender at UNC. His freshman year was bad but he did well as a sophomore and even showed post defense once put at PF.

His defense isn't bad though.

If Clifford tolerated Gary Neal jacking up bad shots and playing bad defense then I can't see why he'd change it up for PJ.

Like the pick a lot, just hope he will stay straight. He also has to drop some weight and work on quickness. He won't have slow d-leagers in front of him anymore. He really doesn't create for himself well, but I think he will develop and improve that part of his game. Love the way he uses his body to get to the rim and foul line.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

if he can hit 40% of his threes and play even average defense, he could prove starter worthy on our squad. He already has about Hendo's handles, and it's not like Hendderson's advantage in athleticism is that big of a factor since Gerald hardly ever used it due to lack of ball-handling. I'm hoping though that by season's tipoff Hairston will have someone better than Hendo to compete for the starting spot with.

PJ will probably average 20+ in Summer League since he has tore up the D-League already

In the last week of the draft process, Hairston actually became a better prospect than Stauskas so I'm happy with this pick. I'll be even happier if he come out nailing 3s left and right efficiently like he did in the D League. I was ho hum with bums like Taylor bricking wide open 3s to the corner of the rim when that's what they're here for.

PJ is going to be a summer league superstar and everyone is going to go nuts over him. I can see this happening.

Yep.

Like last year with Zeller. I am curious about the competition this year for all of them. If it is good then it means something and if it is like last year then it means nothing.

Zeller fooled us in summer league but he ain't had nothing on Taylor hitting us with the bufoonery. Taylor looked like he was poised to take Hendo spot averaging 20 points and ish and then when the real season came he looked like Lil Higgins.

I'm not taking much stock into summer league. I just wanna get a better idea of what these guys can do in Clifford's system and escape it injury-free. Last year I could tell our defense was going to be lightyears better just by watching the schemes Clifford made them play in summer league where we looked like a top defense with a bunch of overseas castoffs and players that shoulda been in the D League like Zeller and Taylor.

All I want to see Hairston do is light up 5 threes a game in summer league.

Watching highlights of Hairston in the NBDL, and defense is one thing that is definitely not preached down there, thats for certain. Looked like a glorified pickup game at times.

It's a sad indictment of how weak the position is now that Kobe and Wade are declining, but honestly Mitch Richmond in his prime would easily be the best shooting guard in the league right now.

I see more Isaiah Rider than anything

Yikes, I hope he plays better defense than Rider did.
