Kind of funny some people have issue with him being friends with Lasry but had no quandary with the notion of David Robinson.

It would be an awesome hire. From the way I read it there still would be a GM in place. This aligns with what Marc said last week about the interviews, and knowing the other candidate now should equate to a hire soon. Very interesting.

He'll feel right at home with all the drunk drivers in Wisconsin.

This is leaking on the Nets side, not the Bucks.

Sounds like Kidd wanted to get fired to be honest.

Better than Mark Jackson at the very least (if it's just for the HC job).

So he wants to leave coaching entirely? I don't get this story I guess. If we'd be hiring him as just POBO then I don't really get it. Surely there's more qualified guys out there for that position.

Well now I have no idea.

Great post on this at Brew Hoop:

To recap: Kidd was seeking more power within the Nets organization, and now the Bucks are talking to him. And it appears Larry Drew and the Bucks' front office was kept in the dark on this move.

After thinking about it and digesting what this means I'm fully supportive of this happening.

1) What reason is there to hate on the move for POBO? Like a previous post said, that title does not necessarily mean GM. Owners have been very explicitly clear at the 3-5 year time line & building thru the draft and not signing free agents until the right time. Right now Kidds track record is blank in this role. Stan Van Gundy just got the same deal in Detroit.

2) Where is the credit for Kidd taking a Nets team that was 10-21, lost their All Star Center for the year and he took them to Game 5 of the EC semi's vs the Heat with KG's corpse at C and 36 year old Paul Pierce at PF. Yeah, and this was Kidd's 1st year as a head coach.

3) Call Kidd a guy with an ego, but I'm positive his current boss Prokohov has a bigger one and we probably don't know the full context of what's going on in the hierarchy of their organization. Kidd is a guy that we could have here for a long time if these reports are true. He's definitely respected around the league, can manage NBA talent and brings a championship caliber resume.

Kidd played the game the right way at an elite level and is one of the all time best PG's in the history of the NBA. I kinda like the idea of him coaching Jabari & Giannis.

The owners have my full trust and if they feel this is the right move, I'm rolling with them on it. These types of moves would never be possible with Kohl as owner. Kidd is a guy who could get guys to sign here when the time is right. He definitely changes the culture and would provide for a pretty entertaining ride ahead for the Bucks organization. This definitely excites me more than the prospect of Drew staying on as head coach.

No, but taking coaches from teams with innovative systems > coaches from teams with systems stuck in the past

What? Spurs system is nothing innovative. Thunder just play hero ball.

OKCs model isn't innovative but I disagree with your assessment of SA

His player development is very good. He never used any players outside of their strengths. He basically developed Plumlee, Teletovic into potential starters and turned Livingston into a two way player. His offensive system is motion offense that requires high IQ players.

His biggest criticisms were minute distribution and the temptation to allow Iso possessions at the end of a game rather than drawing up a creative play. His in-game adjustments need work but he is pretty intelligent at making adjustments if something isn't working.

His character is a different story.

Kidd basically is being accused of trying to screw over Dimitri Rasumov. Rasumov is the right hand man to our owner and the man responsible for helping Kidd land the coaching position. He was just also promoted to basketball operations a month ago.
