I wish as fans we had a better sense of who the rising stars are throughout NBA front offices. I guess a select few with "sources" are in that position, but the truth is none of us really have much of any idea about who we our team should and shouldn't be hiring to make basketball decisions.

This makes sense. It sounded based on interviews that they had a POBO in mind for a couple weeks now but were working on the details.

Don't like Kidd in this kind of role at all.

Also, can we please stop with the, "they can't be worse than Hammond and Drew" ****? Who cares?

I want nothing to do with Kidd making personnel decisions.

This is insane.

Here is my most plausible attempt at connecting a few strange stories.

Kidd is pissed that guys like Kerr and Fisher are getting 5 million dollar deals and major personnel say. He also knows that Billy King is a moron, and that Brooklyn has squandered their assets on a year of KG and Pierce that got them to the ECF yet left them with a horrendous immediate future.

Lasry or Edens (whichever one is close with him) have been calling Kidd with questions throughout the last month as they have been business associates in the past. The idea originates from one side that Kidd could take a bigger paycheck and SVG role here in Milwaukee. Kidd thinks it over, sees the young talent, great opportunity, bigger paycheck, ability to get out from under Billy King... and makes a last ditch power play to see if he can get the gig in Brooklyn (Kidd loves NY). The big russian says "NYET" and here we are.

Exactly. Dude is a sleezeball. Just because he was a great player doesn't automatically make him a great coach/GM. And it certainly doesn't mean players are gonna wanna come play here because he's here.

Yeah, I was thinking that his off the court problems aren't exactly jiving with Jabari as a person. It might be worth the gamble but I'm pessimistic about him being at the top of basketball decision-making for the entire franchise.

Hopefully all that amounts to this is Jason Kidd being one of many to interview for the position.

Yep. I'm going to need to see a better argument than "I trust the new owners" as to why the **** we should advocate Kidd running this team.

Exactly.

I think many here are over-reacting a bit right now. This might be a great move in rebuilding this franchise. Gives the team more credibility.

well this is no longer that exciting. Drew staying, Hammond staying, Kidd only interviewing for president or some crap... Don't care anymore.

Really thought Drew was gone. sigh
God is good.

Also, doesn't it kind of make us look weak to instantly give Jason Kidd everything he wants the second after he starts pouting in Brooklyn? We don't need to be Kidd's rebound girl/dude/deer.

How can two billionaire hedge fun manners see any kind of reason in entrusting Jason Kidd to oversee the basketball operations on a rebuilding team? Seriously, this is what confounds me.

MICHAEL ZAREN. That's the name they should be seeking approval to interview.

Jesus Christ. Horrible idea. Also no way he doesn't want to coach too. May bring out the worst in Parker and Giannis. Also, Edens needs to grow a pair and make some decisions
The Bulls are the absolute worst.
