I have a transition plan for Big Jim. It involves sitting on a chair above a tank of water in the atrium of the new Arena. Kids throw for free. Seniors move in 5 feet. Everybody gets wet and everybody laughs at Jim.

Right, I'm scared about him f--king up what Hammond set us up with in the young guys moving forward because he doesn't personally like one of them or some weird petty sh--. I'd love to be excited about bringing him in. But there's a bad vibe that follows as well and I think with good reason, he's been involved in domestic abuse, then recently a pretty serious DUI charge that would've landed an average citizen in jail for considerable time.

Worst case scenario: We give up multiple first round picks to take a shot in the dark on Kidd as a POBO.

Best case scenario: We simply wait for Brooklyn to fire him, then hire him, and strike gold.

One of the Nets Twitter guys is reporting that Milwaukee and Brooklyn are talking about compensation already, so that's rather alarming and stupid on our part.

I like this a change I was tired of looking at drew look clueless out there. I hope we don't give up a first either wait for him to get fire or hire someone else

They said they hired a CFO, and were interviewing candidates for PBO.

This is just not the way run an organization. At least have a **** interview process and explore multiple qualified candidates.

This is amazing. I can't even contemplate giving up anything for Kidd. Hiring him as POBO with no picks going out is bad enough.

If we give up a first for Kidd it will be the first terrible move of the new regime.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Hammond & Larry Drew or Jason Kidd?

Easy decision as far as I'm concerned. I wouldn't compensate the Nets with any 1st round picks though. He can keep Hammond on as director of scouting if he wants...

Just give them some 2nd round picks or let them fire him. Boom done.

I echo machu, let's be positive. If it works, it's a home run.

Give them their 2015 2nd round pick back and Ersan.

Pending anything happening, I am actually super calm. I frankly don't care what happens. I get that Lasry and Kidd have a long history - there's comfort between the two. I've already delineated the qualities I saw in Kidd I appreciated last season (as a coach). He's a huge name. I don't care if he's a sleaze. I really don't. He's also a HOF'er. I have to imagine Drew's ass is gone. I'm just going to sit back and relax...occasionally giggle...and just roll with the punches.

LUKE23 wrote:Also, can we please stop with the, "they can't be worse than Hammond and Drew" ****? Who cares?

He could be worse than Hammond. I don't think he could be worse than Drew. I think people are just happy that the plan isn't to go into the season with Hammond and Drew.

I don't think Kidd would be good in whatever role he lands, but I like that the new owners appear to be taking chances instead of just hiring retreads who have worn out their welcome elsewhere.

The fact that Hammond and Drew had no idea about this until reports leaked is promising. Maybe the owners have been trying to find the right guys to replace them for a while, but this is just the first one that was made public.
