People don't realize the millions of dollars we will have to invest in COKE products either if Kidd comes to Miltown

Why? I hurd of himz once, he wuz good player in da NBA. He must be gud coach or GM.

Most ex-players recently out of the league that become coaches are epic failures. Can we offically stop this trend of bringing in schmucks with no experience and make guys earn their stripes again?

Exactly. Dude is a sleezeball. Just because he was a great player doesn't automatically make him a great coach/GM. And it certainly doesn't mean players are gonna wanna come play here because he's here.

Agreed. however, the same can be said that just because you guys watch the game from home and post on message boards doesn't mean you know what is a good or bad move for an nba team.

My guess is cash considerations and one 2nd round pick. A first round pick would be enough for me to completely lose interest in the Bucks.

Goodness, Kidd’s been doing this since his freshman year at Cal, when he led a mutiny that wound up costing Lou Campanelli his job with 10 games left in the season.

And never were his Machiavellian methods more on display then the evening of Dec. 5, 2007, when, unhappy with the Nets’ unwillingness to trade him or extend his contract, he conducted a one-man job action, calling in sick and missing a game against the Knicks at the Meadowlands when the only thing wrong with him was a sour attitude.

And then, in case anyone forgot, he chased a reluctant Lawrence Frank for weeks to be his top aide, demanded that the Nets make him the top-paid assistant in the league…then exiled him about 15 minutes into the season.

It’s the right thing to say, the righter thing to do. If the Nets still fancy themselves contenders with a rapidly shutting window, their chances improve exponentially if they’re coached by any of a dozen legit candidates, starting with Jeff Van Gundy and Lionel Hollins.

If Kidd wants to chase the bright lights of Milwaukee, he’s friends with new Bucks owner Marc Lasry. (Maybe Lasry never has heard the old one about “with friends like this…”)

Godspeed. Bundle up. Order a big pile of cheese curds and a pint of Schlitz. Look out for the door. Milwaukee? He’s all yours. Enjoy.

More like Edens and Lasry need to read this.

i don't think anything is going to change their minds. sounds like lasry and kidd are extremely close, and they prolly wanted to work together. this has prolly been in the works since they bought the team.

unfortunately nepotism will always exist, not much you can do.

sounds like it'll get done, i think we need to hope for no compensation that involves the construction of this basketball team (picks, assets), and that kidd just takes role as president and just makes decision on GM/coach and other personnel.

I'd restrict the 1st round pick to being top 29 protected.

If after 10 years it doesn't qualify, we owe Brooklyn a 5th round pick in the Owners Fantasy Football Pool in 2025.

Bucks have all the levarage in this situation, if you're the Nets you can't bring him back after this comes out. Sure the Bucks could give up something for Kidd. But he'll be fired within a week if they don't. :D

Lasry probably lost a game of poker with Kidd being hired as POBO the stakes on his end.

The more I read about this, the more I don't like it.

I knew that L&E would try to make a splash. Every new owner wants to play with his toy. I just don't think this is a smart one, and I'm going to be really annoyed if we give up picks for him. Really **** annoyed.

Aren't there any special-interest groups (that speak out against violence and drug-use) that can pressure the Bucks into not hiring Kidd?

No. He never had those titles, but he was a powerful coach and had a lot of sway. He often bumped heads with his respective GMs because of it.

But the Knicks didn't hire phil Jackson to be RC Buford. They hired Phil Jackson for his rolodex and his star power. When you think of Phil Jackson you think of 11 rings or Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant.

Jason Kidd is not Phil Jackson in any way shape or form.

I leave for a couple hours, come back, and see tweets that we're looking at compensating Brooklyn to let Jason Kidd out of a contract that they don't **** want him to fulfill? Roller coasters are fun and all, but the best ones don't make you want to kill yourself.

I decided to check it out on the Brooklyn forum and it was kind of funny reading the first page. Their guys really ripped the new guy and the validity of his sources, saying that this was a joke. I was laughing so hard because of how true it has become.

What's innovative? Ball movement?

Yes, how they move the ball and how they free up shooters in particular spots. The Hawks are working on replicating their system
