Sorry but maybe if looking too much at the possible bright side of this. But whats wrong with having a Hall of Famer running our team?

Ask Charlotte, they could probably name a few things.

Herb Kohl, Donald Sterling, or Dan Snyder

My vote would be for none of those six. Nor do we have to settle for any of them.

All HOF players are Michael Jordan? What about Bird?

It's because you plagiarize your point of view, don't own it, and then play passive aggressive. It's off-putting.

We should hire Magic Johnson. Was better than Kidd and anyone who listened to his commentating when he still had a job with ABC/ESPN knows his personnel analysis is unmatched.

NY Media: So Jason, you left the bright lights and playoff basketball of Brooklyn, NY to endure multiple 20-win seasons as the laughingstock of the league in NBA Siberia?

L&E better not waver from the rebuilding plan they've been selling the city on beautifully since they've taken over and damn well better not give up any picks to get Kidd.

NetsDaily can confirm the gist of the story. League source said that Kidd is likely to leave but "there is no deal though." Kidd and GM Billy King has clashed on a number of issues with ownership supporting King. Kidd, for example, didn't want the Nets to acquire Marcus Thornton mid-season, preferring Jarrett Jack. Kidd also wanted more planning and a less opportunistic strategy, something that King is noted for ... and has reaped benefits for the team.

Sounds like Kidd is more into a long range plan than Mr. King was. That might fit the vision for the Bucks.

It's not the point of him being a HOF player. It's about bringing someone in with zero front office experience to run your organization because you (Lasry) was once your financial advisor.

It reeks of a Kohl type move even though he could never get someone like Kidd in the first place.

The only bright side to getting Kidd on board is that it might help grease the skids for an arena deal. Casual fans will eat this up.

I think you can do worse than Kidd. Short of bringing on board an old hand like Karl, Gentry or Fratello, I think a younger guy would do better in developing your players.

I am surprised he made a grab like that after only one year.

I still don't know how I feel about this happening, because Kidd is a legitimate Piece of ****. I really like him as a coach though....Eh.

Bird was an assistant in the Pacers front office for 4-5 years, then head coach for 3 years, then became POBO. Obviously it's not a lock Kidd would fail, but Bird wasn't just handed the keys to the kingdom. He proved his competence over a decade or so of prior work after his playing days were done.

Right, which pretty much proves my point that being a HOF player does not mean anything about how good of an exec you will be. Some suck, some are good. Just like non-HOFers.

Which means that there should be some other reason we hire Kidd besides "he's a Hall of Famer."

I'll wait for one.
