I will say one way or another the Bucks are not the Bucks of old anymore. Fairly obvious that Lasry and Edens are throwing their weight around.

Parker wanted to be a Buck and now we might acquire an actual big name coach/POBO (would remain to be seen if he's any good). Couldn't have seen these types of things happening under Kohl.

The other thing that I'd like about bringing in Kidd is that apparently Lasry knows him and has had dealings with him both professionally and personally. So my guess is that he and Kidd would be on the same page in terms of the "Big Picture" and the rebuild.

Another thing I wonder, is why does it seem like this kind of thing would only happen in the NBA? I can't see the Brewers hiring Chipper Jones as their team president two years after he retires and doesn't have any relevant experience. Same for the NFL.

A first round pick? LOL

Throw them a bone and give them their own SECOND round pick back that we acquired for Lamar Patterson.

I just hope we see more of this:

Seriously, it would create a lot of buzz. The average NBA fan knows Jason Kidd and this is just another step towards a new stadium.

Plus with his growing pains, we could wind up with Mudiay next year and JKidd teaching him. Best of both worlds.

Kidd definitely would be on board with the Rebuild. There's not doubt about it. When he was in Brooklyn his main complaint was the management's lack of a long-term vision. This is the least of my worries.

What I am 'concerned' about (skeptical, would be the more appropriate term) is (a) his lack of any real experience leading up to this type of promotion; (b) he is notoriously an egomaniacal self-important person; (c) is he capable of working in-tandem with a GM/team to accomplish a long-term vision.

I don't necessarily espouse the view we could simply cherry-pick someone from the Spurs and it would all come out daisies. I understand and support the notion we should try and copy their paths to success - but, it's infinitely easier said than done. The Spurs are the Spurs...and, really, that's that. These new Bucks are pretty amazing already, man. I can't believe how much we've been in the news. It's **** awesome. Until this honeymoon is over - i.e. we start hearing about tensions and turmoil at Bucks HQ because we're losing 3-5 years into this new scene - I'm just going to try and enjoy the ride.

So that's a good start.

I thought Kidd vetoed the trade? That would mean he thinks His 2 guys are better than Sanders and Ersan.

He's not a felon. Sanders could have had a felony charge. Just because youre charged with something doesnt equate you to being guilty of it. I get the disdain for the off the job actions but lets keep it in perspective.

Something a big market team would do even if it somewhat doesnt make any sense. But again these owners came here and saw how irrrvelant the Bucks were locally and nationally in every aspect whether it was on or off the court. They stated how much they want to change that and publicity wise they have. From the daughter at the draft, to possibly changing the colors, to Parker(by no control of their own) to now this. Think about it the Brewers have the best record in baseball(or 2nd), have gotten out to the best start in team history and the Bucks will be dominating the local sports landscape for the 2nd week in a row. In July.

Yes. At the end of the day this is entertainment. The Bucks are becoming relevant again. That's the first step.

exactly. Its not that he could or couldn't do the job, we dont know. This seems that its a big name in a small market that we desperately need. we all dont know how good he could be at the job. He has positives in this position. He was an excellent player, he might be able to evaluate talent better than hammond ever could. though, jordan was in the same boat. The fact that he was pissed about not trading lopez for ersan and sanders shows he knows what a good trade would be. The down side is hes never done the position before. All in all i would roll the dice as long as he continues with the plan of building through the draft for the next couple of years i would be just fine with that. if he fails in that reguard we sill would have parker, ginnis as building blocks still below 24 years old and we have high lottery picks. the bucks are in a perfect potion to roll with it and see what he can do. the owners dont come off stupid. i believe they know what they are doing.

No, he was pushing for them to make the trade and Billy King and company decided not to.

Even if it was a felony charge, don't care. It doesn't impact his ability to run a team (which I obviously question for other reasons).

Because, let's be honest. There isn't much too basketball. Baseball and football are thinking games. Football has hundreds of plays in one playbook (especially McCarthy) and an unlimited amount of planning.

Basketball is about athleticism and having the best players. Either the best overall player (MIAMI) or the deepest team in the league (San Antonio). There are x's and o's of course, but no where near as much as the other league. If Kidd comes here and Parker/Giannis are dominant, Kidd will be credited as a genius. If they fail to meet potential, Kidd will be the villain.

business as usual in Milwaukee then, at least the guy in charge now would have basketball experience as opposed to being a US Senator of which we can all use a few Mark Twain to describe.

Playing basketball, zero on the business side, pretty sh**** coach, and no idea if he has any ability to judge talent. My guess is that he will be a meddler with whoever his GM is and who is to say he would be down with the youth movement......he has absolutely no relevant experience.

Funny thing is Nets fans feel the opposite.

Sanders rep around the league has taken a big hit from Woelfel's bogus rehab blurb and other assorted random hit pieces. We know the truth.

Lmao Gerry is the most powerful sports reporter in US, Sanders rep has taken a hit because he is an idiot with many problems

He's just not the kind of guy that I want having any kind of controlling power in our organization. The problem I have with former great players in management positions is that they still have that player mentality and it makes it hard for them to see things long-term.

For example, if you had gone to any player on the Bucks last year when we were 12 games under .500 and asked them "Would you like us to make a trade that would allow our team to make a push for the eighth seed?" Every player on the Bucks would have said yes immediately because they hate the feeling of losing now. Kidd was one of them TWO years ago! I can only imagine this feeling would be amplified by guys who were perennially successful and never had to experience a rebuilding situation in their career.

Dude, seriously, I'm fine with people liking the hire, but enough with the "this will get us closer to a new arena" stuff. It has absolutely no bearing on the arena. None.

Would this mean Kidd would have to stop doing Bud Light and Dr Pepper commercials and doing concerts with J-Lo?
