I probably should have better isolated the quote that caught my attention. What caught my attention was the idea of Lance signing someplace else and that that might cause the Pacers to make a seismic change.

If Lance leaves, any move we make will likely be somewhat "seismic" as it would likely require a trade. I doubt we'd feel comfortable replacing Lance with an MLE signing, solely.

Do we need a Plan B thread? What does Indiana do if Lance goes someplace else?

Heh. Not a bad idea. Would be a good spot where we wouldn't have to continually post "but if Lance leaves", or "of course, we only do this if Lance leaves".
