Not only that, I associate him with the start of these pathetic last 5 years. He's been around for all of them producing nothing but mediocrity.

I think we're the team that will overpay for Patty Mills. Stan is infatuated by San Antonio and winners and will want to bring him in as part of a culture change and to pick his brain on the "San Antonio way" a bit.

I can see the logic in signing either of those two players, but they certainly aren't glamorous additions.

I think Jodie Meeks would be an excellent addition for our 2nd unit. Instant offense and much-needed 3 point shooting.

Also, thread title could've been less concrete and more speculative.

Impossible to say. I'd imagine SVG would lobby to not sign Josh Smith in this theoretical scenario.

It's not exactly a worldly prediction since most assume the Pistons will chase cheaper options at the wing spot (even SVG basically said so). Meeks will be more expensive than Morrow, I'd welcome either player, thus give me the cheaper deal.

Patty Mills doesn't work as well on our roster because we don't have many people who can handle the ball. Mills played more like a SG next to Ginobli's PG in the finals. He needs to be placed next to someone who can actually create offense if the play breaks down. We don't have anyone like that on our second unit. (Though I guess this is where Dinwiddie could fit in).

I like Meeks better. And yes on getting Bynum away from this team as far as possible.

Meeks should be one of the first players we talk too.

Meeks would be my pick. He would be great in detroit. He seems more athletic and a better defender than Morrow.

Meeks just scored damn near 16ppg while shooting over 40% from 3. I would be shocked if hes not SVGs main target thos offseason given what hes been saying he wants. Meeks isnt perfect but hes a big need for us.

Either would be a nice addition. Preferably Meeks!
Detroit vs Everybody by way of Belgium.

Well not really a 'bold' prediction since they are two of the best shooters in the class, but like someone mentioned in the FA thread. I believe it was Goodwill reported that Marrow was meeting with Detroit. Pretty good news :) , we can't add enough shooters to this team lol.

Pistons no longer pursuing Morrow. It sounds like they targeted both and decided to pay a little more for Meeks, which is good because he has ability to be a starter whereas Morrow is really just a shooter off the bench and does nothing else. Meeks has expanded his game some over the last year and is younger too.

I also think Morrow's 45% 3FG is a bit overrated because it was only on 2.6 attempts per game. Meanwhile Meeks maintained a 40% rate on literally twice as many attempts (5.2 per game). I think SVG made the right call here and got the better player.

Morrow is drawing interest from several teams, but the Detroit Pistons are no longer pursuing him after they agreed to a three-year, $19 million contract with former Lakers guard Jodie Meeks, a source close to Morrow confirmed on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the Detroit News reported that the Pistons had scheduled to meet with Morrow, but the story apparently came out before the franchise had reached its agreement with Meeks, who is expected to fill their need for perimeter scoring. The Pistons also reached an agreement on Tuesday with 29-year-old shooting guard Cartier Martin to a one-year deal.

Morrow signed a veteran minimum contract last summer with the Pelicans as a free agent that paid him just more than $1 million this season and included a player option for this upcoming season that would have paid him $1.1 million.

Now, Morrow could command a salary that exceeds more than $3 million per season and extend up to at least three years after averaging 8.4 points and making 45.1 percent of his 3-pointers that ranked fourth in the NBA.
