The Suns can surround James and Melo (yuck!) with a team than won 48 games in the brutal west. Suns supporting talent >>>>>>>>>>>> Heat supporting talent. The fact that we can surround James with such talent, and still have max contract space available to sign him is an amazing testament to the Babby/McDonough team.

What is the true 4 year max we could give James? Also, how much would be left over for Melo?

I would rather have LeBron/Bosh than LeBron/Melo.

That's actually pretty surprising. That he is getting everyone else to take less and still wants the absolute max. I still think they can add additional pieces though with Ray, Battier, etc, coming off the books and the others possibly taking paycuts. But if it is true, LeBron may start to piss those other guys off to some extent. It seemed like he was telling them he would take less to stay so they had to take less if he was going to stay.

Cant blame him. He already took a huge paycut the 1st time around. Went on to win MVP a couple of times and finals MVP, while Wade has been injured and crap when playing. Bosh has also been a bit of a letdown. How do you not justify paying LeBron more than Wade and Bosh?

Yeah, I edited my post right after I posted it and read the article and think he deserves it. If he took less so they could even sign more impact players, it would give the team a better chance at succeeding though.

Well LeBron can get money through endorsements. Players that want the team to surround them with good players are morons if they want to take up a huge amount of the cap. It is very difficult to do both, and smart players should know this.

I'm not saying he doesn't deserve the money, but if he wants good players around him....

Yeah, personally I always welcome new posters and like to have more, but those kind would irritate the hell out of me.

We weathered the Turk and VC fans, and even the latter coming back at us a year after he left. :D

Like the dreaming... but still think our most realistic targets are gonna be Pau Gasol and Luol Deng. Len learns from Gasol, Warren learns from Deng.
Would rather go after Parsons/Hayward but I don't think Suns FO wants to deal with restricted free agents because we lose some leverage that way.

Thats cool and all, and he did take less the 1st time so they could have a better team. What im saying is that Wade and Bosh need to take a bigger hit in the wallet this time.

Not just the posters. Everything overall. All the idiocy in the media, etc.

The only good thing I can think of is that we'd have like 30 national TV games and while we suck on national TV, at least there's 30 games I won't have to stream.

Just imagine him running from his house to Miami to the practice gym at US Airways Center, then running to his new house in Phoenix. All the people following are "Heat fans".

That would be more likely. Ego might play a big part in that though.

Totally! Anything would be better than more laker and Knicks games on national tv. :D I wonder how much tickets for Suns/Minny games would increase if James goes to PHX.

Please, Suns FO, do not turn the Phoenix Suns into the Phoenix Clowns!!!!! This team has always been as close as possible to the pure definition of team and team basketball, so please do not destroy it.
On a personal level, if The Clown goes to Phoenix, it will simply break my heart that bleeds purple and orange for the last 22 years.
Not to mention i just got a new Suns jersey that i will not be able to wear until this atrocity for the game of basketball is in my team.

That's true. I've always been annoyed with the Heat Index and all that, but I wouldn't mind more coverage of the Suns at all, especially since I am not in the market. I hate having to watch crappy feeds of games.

We need a quiz to weed out the true Suns fans from the bandwagoners:

(much like the Chicago sports quiz from SNL)

A. The Shot refers to:

1. MJ's shot against Cleveland in 1989.
2. Ray Allen's shot against the Spurs in 2013
3. Tim Thomas's shot against the Lakers in 2006.
4. Robert Horry throwing a towel at Danny Ainge's face in 1997

Correct Answer: 3, but 4 is also acceptable

B. The Most Valuable Jersey in Suns Collector's History:

1. Charles Barkley
2. Walter Davis
3. Elliot Perry
4. Alando Tucker

Correct Answer: 3, only if you have the matching high socks.

In all seriousness I doubt it happens, but who knows.

Any other Suns fans out there feel like they're too good for the best player in the world  ?

I love how we like to toy with our own emotions. 5 days ago it was "trade for love and sign lebron." everyone was giddy as can be. 3 days ago it was "nobody wants to come here at all, and bledsoe is leaving, and frye is leaving and we'll be a lotto team next year." Today its "sign melo and lebron and everyone will hate us."

within two days the talk is going to be how many max contract Dallas can sign, and how great of a destination it will be because of taxes. then the media will move onto Chicago. We havent heard too much fantasy talk about them. Then we can circle around to Houston again, and lastly we'll hear a whole bunch about the Lakers doing whatever they can to get Lebron and Melo just before FA hits.

I'm going to laugh when Lebron stays, Melo stays, Love stays, Bosh and Wade stay. All this hype, just like we had with the draft, but no real big moves.

Return to Phoenix Suns
