Height in shoes is all that matters, seeing as how 90% of players are listed at that height and they all wear shoes while playing. However, I do agree that Smart is a PG but I think could survive at SG depending on who the PG was. Him and Rondo don't fit at all though.

I think Smart can play point and thrive at it. But is he being called a PG solely cause of his shooting percentages in college? Or because of his height?

He is a tweener in the worst of ways. He isn't a polished scorer or distributor, so he isn't ideal offensively at either position. Really if he isn't muscling a smaller defender to get to the rim he isn't going to provide anything offensively.

He is a pest on D though, that will keep him on the floor early on in his career. I just can't see what the dude can do on offense outside of attack the rim on smaller PGs. He should work on his post game ala Baron Davis.

If Flip trades Pek to get backup PF and PG or SG then re-signs Love he will be genius. I wish it'd be true.

Dude is built like a tank, thrives in contact, and has very good handles he will be able to get to the tin against most players.

We shall see. He frustrated me with his flopping and trying to draw fouls instead of just looking to finish like the beast he is. I agree he is built like a tank and he shouldn't need to cry to the refs to bail him out.

Again I say, he needs to start studying some Baron Davis tape and learn to live in the post as a PG. Chauncey used to play like that as well.

I like the pieces Chicago could offer namely Gibson, Butler, McDermott and Mirotic (if he'll sign here). If we could get that group of players for Love I'd be satisfied and we could even counter with some guys like GRob, Shabazz, Martin and Brewer.

Not really interested in Rockets deal. Parsons only starting caliber player. Not interested in Jones or Lin.

Capela and the Pelicans pick are intriguing though.

Still prefer Bulls deal right now.

Phoenix seems to be a dark horse in the Love chase. What do you think they would offer? Bledsoe with a S&T? One of the Morris ? Picks.

No way. Suns two best players are PG's.

Dragic could probably play SG next to Rubio. Love already said he wouldn't re-sign in Phoenix, though, so it doesn't matter. I guess if they land one of Melo/Lebron, then he would but the chances of that happening are about 1 in 100.

Plumlee-Love-Melo-Green-Bledsoe lineup is really interesting chemistry wise. Unselfish star, true scorer and gifted slasher. Will be fun to watch

Atlanta has just cleared capspace. I'd propose them Love, Martin for Millsap, Payne, Salmons (I'm not sure if they can trade him away), 2015 1st round pick, Shroeder. I'd be strong offer. Payne, Shroeder rookie constracts will save us money, then we cut Salmons and Millsap is expiring.ATL isn't perect destination for Love, but Horford-Love-Teague core can bring ATL beyond 1st round of playoff. Their coach knows how to utilize shooting big men. ATL will have ~55 mil commited.

Our roster will have ~55 mil commited, no reliable SG, but we can give more time to Shabazz, GR3, LaVine

Pek/Dieng/Turiaf
Millsap/Payne/Mbah
Brewer/Budinger/GR3
Shabazz/LaVine/Shved
Rubio/Shroeder /Barea

Next year Barea, Shved, Mbah contracts expire. I like Millsap game, if Payne won't show anything I will re-sign Millsap for the same amount 27 mil for 3 years. Make run for Klay Thompson, resign Rubio.

Pek/Dieng/???
Millsap/Payne/
Brewer/Budinger/GR3
Thompson/Shabazz/LaVine
Rubio/Shroeder/LaVine

Next year Budinger, Brewer contracts expire. We still have Dieng, Payne, GR3, Shroeder, Shabazz, LaVine on rookie contracts

Doesn't make any sense for the Hawks in my opinion.

I think a simplified Milsap, Korver, Schroeder, Payne for Love, Shved makes a lot more sense, especially if they get Deng.

It will be difficult to re-sign Millsap anyway, no Bird rights since he has only 2years contract. Payne, Shroeder don't have much value at the moment. If Love re-signs, I see only concern - Martin contract. But they have no reliable SG at the moment so probably Martin can be option for 20-25 minutes

It be better to either take Salmons expiring or get rid of Budinger/Martin deals.

we are best of keeping him at this point. our chance to get maximum value passed at the draft.

Of course it would, but I think the Eric Gordon for Martin, Budinger trade is far more realistic, than thinking Atlanta is going to offer all of that and take on Martin and/or Budinger.

Yes, I agree. Regardless of Love situation, we should trade Martin, Budinger for Eric Gordon to create room for Shabazz, GR3 and LaVine. haven't found any indications about NOP willinges to trade Gordon this summer.

Willingness. The Pelicans would love to get Gordon off their team.

Hi! i'm new a fan from spain and first of all sorry for my english

I dont know too much about the NBA's offseasons because here in europe transfers are quite different and there aren't trades. Reading you i have a important doubt.

It seems the best trade for minnesota could be with GS (Lee and thompson) but i think minny has to make one or two trades more. One looking for another PG and another one for a PF.

In spain they say minnesota could be interested in Shaun Livingston the brooklyn PG, i think he could be a good player for minny from the FA.

And then, with Zach and Thompson i would trade martin barea and Shved or another looking for a good PF, or maybe go for Chandler Parsons and put him in a PF position to open the court for Pekovic or Dieng.

The roster:
Rubio/Thompson/Brewer/Lee/Pekovis
Livingston/Lavine/Shabazz/Parsons/Dieng

Budinger/GR3

I'd love to see that roster in minny

What do you think?

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
