Can we use Isaiah Thomas then instead? Generally considered to be a very intelligent player during his career, high winning percentage, also played PG. He definitely didn't get by on otherworld type athleticism.

I just honestly believe that elite players generally don't make good office personnel. They have no patience for building teams so every move is a win now move.

I also wish we'd fill positions in a more logical way. Hire a President, then GM, then Coach. The way we are doing things now makes me think Lasry and Edens are going to be big time meddlers.

WTF are these guys doing.

I mean, when you have the ONLY coach in NBA history to coach two different teams to seasons in which they didn't win back to back games, you definitely need to treat that man with the dignity and respect he has earned through his years of proving he is awful at his job.

POBO, coach, I don't care. Either way I don't want this POS sleaze ball around our players. And we certainly better not be giving up any picks for his services....1st or 2nd round. Period. That's just insane.

AussieBuck wrote:Kidd as a coach is much more palatable. (Not really saying much Kidd as POBO was an insane idea.)

Pros:
Understands the importance of defense particularly in bigs.
Understands the importance of spacing, vital to the modern game.
Will be unlikely to look on Brandon Knight as the guy he needs to build the team around.
As per the last point he isn't Larry Drew.

Cons:
Is a Scott Skiles like terrible person who will burn out after a while, possibly spectacularly.

My thoughts, too. Read some of those articles out there ... he has burned a ridiculous bridge every single place that he's been, dating back to HIGH SCHOOL, for god's sake.

If our owners aren't confident in Hammond to do his job, then they need to fire him....hire a new GM...and let him hire a coach.

Exactly. Hammond had a part in hiring Larry Drew. So, Hammond can F off and if he doesn't like this coach, then fine, he can GTFO and Morway is in charge. It's not like Hammond is irreplaceable.

No, it shows a lot about your organization and how you will treat people going forward. If you're planning on replacing them, don't have him working guys out and shaking Parker's hand.

I don't really care if Kidd is the coach this point(more so relieved he's not the POBO), but as I stated they're doing this backwards.

I think the line "a caliber of his caliber" was the straw that broke the camel's back wrt Drew. Or maybe it was the lip licking gif. I don't know, I'm not an insider.

Maybe we already have a GM but it isn't public and this went public without them wanting it to...

This would be incredible. Our owners poached a high profile coach from the biggest media outlet in the country. Marc and Wes don't **** around

This is where his relationship with Lasry comes in.

Agreed. We need a POBO or GM first.

I do give them props for mad PR skilzs though. They floated the POBO idea for 24 hours to make everyone then breath a sigh of relief when he's only "coach" Briliant machievallian move.

We'll see how this goes. Cuban is a pretty big meddler too.

I'd like our new POBO, one with the qualifications to hold the position, to do so.

Hammond had his chance and he picked the wrong guy (Drew over Sampson)

If this was planned, then it's likely that Kidd's in on Jabari with the owners and anyway, I think that a guy like Kidd would take the challenge of making a self-professed student of the game play better all-around basketball.

If that fails to happen and he's disappointed in him, like he was with Lopez last year... then maybe he tries to get the L&E to see his POV on moving him.
