People are forgetting something. Once the Suns clear enough salary cap space to sign Lebron and either Carmelo or Bosh, then re-sign Bledsoe, they should still have the full mid-level exception which is 5.15 million dollars. I do not know who the Suns will move to create the cap space but they have several options.

You know earlier when everyone said the lurkers were going to come out to announce they've always been Suns fans?

For the math to work, we'd need to

1) Renounce Frye
2) Trade Len
3) Trade Green
4) Trade the Morris Twins

without taking any salary back.

Gentlemen, start your rosterbation engines.

I do not believe this article is correct. It is taken from hoopshype numbers that are false.

Dragic - 7.5
Bledsoe - 6.8
Bron/Anthony - 44

total 4 players = 58m

Cap = 63m

+ Plumlee/Tucker/Goodwin = 62-ish

Vet-min ring chasers; Allen & Birdman?

Bledsoe-Goodwin
Dragic-Allen
Melo-Tucker
Lebron-Melo
Plumlee-Birdman

Following summer we'd have more picks and the MLE to boost the roster. I'll take it!

With Bledsoe's qo I think we are just under $29 million, plus cap holds for picks. Bogdon is not coming, so I don't think he counts. We can easily move Ennis and sign Warren. Anyway, that leaves us at 30 million or so. That would get us about 33 million in cap space. We would need about 7 more.

Hmm. Trade Goran? Is that why we drafted Ennis? It would have to be Goran. Bledsoe only costs us 3.7 against the cap while Goran is 7.5. Its what it has to be if LeBron is interested. But he could also choose to keep Goran and forego Melo.

I'd rather just have Lebron and keep the twins/Green and make a push for a quality big/stretch 4.

Yup. Think Melo and Lebron wouldn't work too well with Dragic and Bledsoe. There's only one ball fellas. I think our best bet is Lebron and maybe Bosh. Bosh shouldn't be demanding the max. And if it's not Bosh then we can trade everyone but Dragic and Bledsoe for Kevin Love and still build a solid team.

I don't see any friction offensively. Bron/Melo want rings, Bledsoe will be paid and focus on being a defensive juggernaut and Dragic is a team guy. In terms of role players; Green-Tucker-Plumlee >>> Chalmers-Battier-Birdman

In reality, they can't. And if they pass on an opportunity like this because our "market" isn't big enough, it's a decision I think they'd both regret.

I don't know if LeBron would think that team is better than his Miami team if they add pieces, plus they are in the east which is easier, plus he gets paid the bigger max to stay in Miami.

Now Melo might be hard pressed to find a better situation, simply because playing with LeBron is a huge factor, but the Chicago team would be damn good with him on it, and they'd be in the east.

Phil Jackson is probably trying to sell Melo on staying at home where he is loved, and he is going to run the triangle, add the right pieces right now, and that they will add Love the following summer.

Our depth would hurt too because we would have to get rid of three of Morris, Morris, Green and Len.

I don't know who we'd keep between Kieff and Len, but our roster/depth after the starting five would be

Ennis
Goodwin
Tucker
Warren
Kieff or Len
Whoever we signed with MLE

Frontcourt and guard depth could be extremely thin and inexperienced.

In hindsight, the Cards very well could have won the Super Bowl last year with Manning. They already competed with the Niners and Seahawks well. Didn't they beat Seattle 19-0 IN Seattle or something late in the season?

Imagine how good the Cards would have been with the Peyton Manning of last year and an unstoppable offense.

But that is giving both Lebron and Melo the Max MAX. If they were willing to take just $3M less than the max (Still way more than what they would get in Miami), we would be all good keeping our guys (except Frye).

I'd have to say Dragic is severely underrated by most superstars in the league. They just don't give him any respect (besides the Spurs and Kevin Durant). He busts his butt on the court, and always gives 110% effort every night, I cannot understand why players like Kevin Love look at Phoenix and decide that isn't a place that peaks their interest.

I think Love is focused on going to the Warriors first and foremost because they are a playoff team. If that situation fizzles (and GS decides they want to keep Thompson instead), I think he will change his tune to some degree, especially if a team like Chicago signs Melo. That would leave few really good teams that could (or would want to) pull off a trade for him. Even if he doesn't commit to staying longer then a year, and we trade for him mid season, he'd still have to give up a lot of money if he left and it would almost certainly be to a crappier situation. I think the only other team that would have a pretty good shot at getting him to leave Phx would be NY IF Melo stays.

If LeBron and Melo join the Suns, Howard Mass will have to add at least two more mods to this board. We'll be over run with haters and band wagoners.

I think Lebron should give some serious consideration to how amazing the Spurs just played as a team. Would he rather play with a team that consisted of himself, Carmelo, Bledsoe, Dragic, and Plumlee as the starters, with some rookies and a couple of vets on the bench. Or would Lebron rather play with something like this:

Bledsoe/Ennis
Dragic/Green/Goodwin
Lebron/Marcus Morris/Warren
Markieff Morris/maybe Frye?
Pau Gasol/Plumlee/Len

That team would be so much more of a complete team and incredibly deep. The 33.5 million of available cap space the Suns have right now should be enough to sign Lebron and Pau. The versatility that team would have would be incredible. He has to think more about how the Heat had no answer inside against the Spurs. They did not just lose to the Spurs, they got annihilated. Two or three superstars and very little else cannot do it alone. The Heat were honestly lucky to win two championships. If the Spurs did not miss that one free throw at the end of regulation in game 6 in 2013, the Heat would have lost three out of four years in the finals. They are 2-2 right now. Carmelo and Lebron are not power forwards, flat out. They can get away with it in the East, but in the West, you need big players to guard Duncan, Griffin, Dirk, Randolph, Love, and everyone else.

With Lebron and Pau, the Suns could play big or small. Play against big teams and start Plumlee and Pau. Play against small teams and start Markieff and Pau. A major weakness for the Heat was their lack of depth and with a team like this one, the Suns would be ten deep.

Do not get me wrong, if the only way Lebron comes here is with Carmelo, so be it. I would rather take my chances with them together than not. However, I think having an incredibly deep team with a true inside presence has a better chance of success than a team without that, obviously.

Can someone who understands the CBA explain to me why Adrian Woj said that we are the only team who can give two max contracts? Doesn't Miami have a record $55M in cap space?
