I don't buy Milwaukee being close to Chicago as a strong selling point for Parker. It's a nice perk but it's not like he'll be living in Chicago then driving here every morning for 8am practices.

There isn't any case for tampering that could be made, and I'm a negative person who thinks everyone in the Bucks organization is being dumb.

Just saw that. We better stay firm on that second round pick. I'll be livid giving up a 1st rounder for him.

Phil got fined for tampering because he spoke up publicly about signing Fisher, there is no proof here.

Kidd/Lasry could have been talking and Kidd expressed his frustration in BKN. Lasry then comments saying we'd love to have you here if you become available.
Kidd then knows he has a fallback option and goes to Prok with his demands and either a) they agree and his situation there improves or b) they let him go and Kidd gets to go to the Bucks. Then after that occurs Kidd knows he has to ask for permission and make it seem like he and Lasry have never spoken about the matter. Then they have the meeting which is really more of a formality.
I'm not saying that's how it went down, but the meeting taking place after Kidd was granted permission doesn't really show anything. Either way I very much doubt they'd be able to prove it so the point is probably moot.
The meeting taking place after Kidd was granted permission to have a meeting shows everything. Just because Kidd decides to pull a power play doesn't mean the Bucks didn't have permission to talk about his possible role. Maybe I'm missing something in your comment.
Basically, he's saying it's possible we met with him twice. Once before he had permission, and then once afterwards.
Derp. Yeah, I see where he says that now. It seems like you guys are bending over backwards to come up with theses theories, though.

But then it calls into question why Kidd had his outburst demanding more power. And who and why leaked the story out. I suppose we could take at face value that Kidd blew up at the Nets and then asked to talk with the Bucks. But it would have been stupid of Kidd blow up at the Nets unless he knew he had an ace up his sleeve with Miwaukee.
Therefore my belief is that Kidd is either a stupid and/or volatile personality or we tampered. Neither one bodes well for the Bucks at the moment.....
I'm willing to entertain other theories.
Of course we tampered, but it won't and can't be proven. Kidd and Lasry are boys, I'm sure they have been talking for weeks about this. That in and of itself is tampering. Or maybe before they were officially owners, they spoke and already had a plan. We simply will never know, or at least won't know until we watch it on the "extra's" disc on the 2017 championship blu-ray.

The formal meeting took place after. Lasry and Kidd are close friends, Lasry very well could have told him before that that he has a place in Milwaukee if he can get out of BKN. Maybe that's why it took so long to hire a coach? Obviously that's conjecture, but I really don't think it's that unlikely.

I wouldn't be thrilled to get Kidd as a coach so I wouldn't be heartbroken to lose him either. Who has Shaka Smart's phone number dammit?

That's fine, we can be patient Brooklyn. As far as GM goes Hammond could even stay on worst case scenario and be the figure head giving his input while the owners and Kidd make the calls. Kidd and the new owners will recruit free agents much better than Hammond and Herb could dream of doing.

I can definitely see where it would be a possibility, but I'm gonna give our guys the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. I'll be absolutely furious if we cave and give a 1st round pick though unless it were to be like 1-20 protected or something. If Kidd came here and led us to a position where they'd actually get our pick despite it being protected 1-20, he's worth it lol.

Should be good for Wolters, too.
Kidd used Kirilenko well, too. And wasn't afraid to go small.
And Kidd isn't Drew. So... cautious optimism?
Kidd did a great job with Deron Willams too.
14/6/3 all career lows.
So you expect Kidd to waive his magical point guard dust and make a 30 year old Deron Williams, who has been injured, fat, lazy, and on the decline since 2010 to suddenly regain All Star form??
No, not at all. But this lovefest with him turning players around is hysterical. He took a loaded, albeit old team to a 44-38 record in the NBDL, oops I mean the Eastern Conference.
All the potential coaches out there are better than Drew. Let's not settle on one because he's buddies with one of the owners. If we do, we're no better off than we were with Kohl.
Hire a basketball person to make basketball decisions.

A rebuilding team should never give up a draft pick. 1st/2nd...doesn't matter. Those are valuable assets and guys like Redd, Boozer, Arenas, Millsap, Marc Gasol, Ginobili, etc. were all picked in the 2nd. Don't discount those picks.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

loaded is a generous way of describing that team.

machu46 wrote:LUKE23 wrote:It doesn't sound like there was tampering, unless Gardner's tweet on the Nets granting permission was incorrect.
The point that the Brooklyn fans are making is that according to the reports, Kidd had permission AFTER the blow up happened, so therefore, they're saying he must have already spoken to us without permission or he wouldn't have gone and made an ass of himself in the first place.
But nobody really knows because we don't have a legit timeline. We don't even know when this blow up occurred. The only thing we know is that Milwaukee had permission prior to the draft on Thursday, and Carl posted that all this stuff had gone down after the draft on Thursday.
We don't know that any blow up occurred.
This story was obviously leaked by someone with the Nets. We didn't want it out there until something had been finalized for obvious reasons. The story that has been leaked paints Kidd in the worst possible light and has also painted us as clueless tamperers.
How about this. The Nets are trying to save face because a coach they had just hired the year prior, who happens to be one of the most high profile players to have ever played for them, already wants out because he thinks the GM is clueless (because he is). They are also trying to save face because last year was largely a disaster for them considering the money they spent and how badly they mortgaged their future.
Again, if none of this leaks out and we simply hire Kidd away from the Nets and the reasoning behind it is leaked out that Kidd didn't see eye to eye with Billy King, everyone here is LOLing at the Nets.

I agree, I don't see how Kidd's job last year was anything to write home about. You just can't throw out the first part of the season. That should have been a home court team at minimum with how bad the East was and Rose going down again.

Are you kidding me? An "extra's" disc of the Bucks 2017 championship on blu-ray? Be realistic, that's never going to happen.
Blu-ray is a dying format. We will be watching the behind-the-scenes championship run on Netflix.
