I hope we don't waive him, guarantee his salary and then trade him with second rounders for Micic.

If not waive him later, give the guy his money, he went to war for us and suffered the consequences, reward him in some aspect.

I'd recommend to waive him, but to be classy about it, give him every opportunity to stick on the roster, from a summer league to a training camp invite. Maybe him & his agent might think they could find greener pastures elsewhere. For instance, he could try out for the Sixers, and he'll probably get a roster spot and maybe even some consistent playing time to earn his right in the NBA

I don't see any way he has a future here. I think we're inevitably going to dump him. MKG, CDR, Hairston, and even Hendo are all significantly better than he is.

It's just a cold fact of life, natural selection means bye bye Jeffery.

Hope he gets paid though.

He already got paid. He got paid this past year at least 10x's more than I did to nurse a injury after posting a 5.9 PER in consistent rotational minutes beforehand. The Hornets could pull a half decent 6'7" guy out of the local gym to post those type of numbers with 24 minutes per game. In fact, I think/know I could've done better on my ailing knee playing SG/SF if I had 6 more inches. I'm not trying be rude or classless, but I'm a former basketball player and I know plenty of people dying to be in the NBA with the talent that get nothing but overseas offers at best. Taylor was blessed to get the opportunity, but he failed in my opinion

I had my heyday. I shall remain anonymous, but like I said I'm not trying to be rude or classless. I've played against current NBA players during my prep & college years, and I still play against high level basketball players recreationally during summer leagues. Taylor was a disappointment. I seen former Bobcats' player Flip Murray at the gym the other week. He still got it aka is better than Taylor

Taylor sucks by NBA standards but it is almost delusional to say that random rec players could go into the NBA and outperform him.

The guy killed Eurobasket, which is not great competition but infinite times better than rec league.

I know plenty of local Philly players that could've dropped 20 points per game in EuroBasket on a losing team if they didn't have U.S. citizenship that are currently dropping 20 points per game in Russian, Turkish, and Italian leagues. This debate is baseless if you're not familiar with the competition from a parallel view. I respect professional athletes, but they're not far from human. I can assure you that

Start dropping some names then.

Edit: Professional athletes are indeed human, but I can guarantee you that Taylor is among the top 2% of basketball players in the world, and I doubt some "local Philly kids" could be drafted in the NBA or what he did in college. Give me a break already.

I was a big supporter of JT pre-injury. Problem is so much of what he brought was based on athleticism. It remains to be seen what he'll be able to do coming off an Achilles rupture.

The NBA is the best basketball league in the world by far.

When people discuss athleticism of players etc, they are talking about by NBA standards.

Doug McDermott is a freak athlete compared to the average person for example.

Forgive me for thinking that you're exaggerating not just your own ability but also random rec league players.

I find this discussion so ridiculous I don't actually want to engage in it.

I'm a pretty good defender and I'm a decent passer who is unselfish, maybe I can be backup PG for us?

I'd be delusional to even think I could, this is no knock on you.

I'll just drop one that's a close personal friend of mines...Mark Tyndale

I'm not saying that Taylor isn't in the top 2% percentile, but what I am saying is that he was a major disappointment. He could barely make a open 3-pointer without it clinking off the 'side' of the rim rather than going in-and-out

For the 2008-09 season, he played for the Adelaide 36ers of the Australian National Basketball League.[4] The Iowa Energy of the NBA D-League signed him to a contract for the 2009-10 season, during which he averaged 12.3 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.[5]

Tyndale played for teams in Germany, Ukraine, and Sweden from 2010 to 2012. The Sioux Falls Skyforce selected Tyndale in the second round of the 2012 NBA Development League Draft with the 18th pick overall. He was traded to the Maine Red Claws on February 25, 2013.[6] Tyndale was named to the All-D-League Defensive Second Team on April 26

He was a member of the all D-League defensive second team though. Awesome..
