New here, but not a new Cavs fan.

What about Greg Monroe at C? I know the Lakers will probably throw money at him, but he'd be a nice fit assuming we don't keep Hawes.

And with regards to Parsons, I'd love to see him in a Cavs uniform. Good defender that can stretch the floor and play a couple different positions.

How is he defensively? Doesn't seem like a big shot blocker.

Monroe's kind of like kyrie irving of big men.

well no, I'd say Big Al is Kyrie Irving of big men, but Monroe is pretty close to that.

unathletic, disinterested on defensive end, but offensively very skilled & versatile.

That describes both pretty well.

Expensive (cap inflexibility is something to be avoided until the core is set and winning), not a rim protector (one of your bigs needs to be, Neither Thompson nor Bennett is), would actually fit better as a PF alongside a C like Hawes... But that leaves you with the question of what to do with Thompson and Bennett...

If we want to be a good team we need a rim protector at the 5

So, a no go on Monroe. Any others?

Also this on Hawes:

Spencer Hawes isn't going to play for 6.5m let alone less.

If we can resign him for that it'd be an absolute bargain.

Hawes made a huge difference to us offensively i reckon. He played great and the spacing was much better

In lieu of a FA thread:

Cavs rumored to make a run at Parsons. Sign him.
