I'd bust out some jojoba oil and massage that fat ass if he took that much. No homo at all.

Nah you guys crossed the line. Doesn't matter if you add ''no homo''.

those are 2 major red flags to me.. im not sure how comfortable I am giving him a huge contract even though he was my favourite player this last season.

He's not injury prone. Had one injury got infected - freak incident. Bledsoe had part of his knee removed

No team except perhaps a desperate Lakers will. Its more about if Lowry is willing to take 1-2 million less a year to go to a winning situation.

This is why we need a deal done NOW and not later.

The Lakers will strike out somewhere and Kupchak will initiate Plan B which imo is CB4 and KL.

Even if we overpay Lowry, he can always be traded.

The Knicks just traded an overpaid aging Tyson Chandler. The Rockets backloaded Asik's contract like crazy and just dumped him for a 1st rounder. If you're Masai you MUST retain Lowry because even if he falls off, there will be teams who want him. The Rockets right now have Lin's fat contract and teams are apparently lining up to take it.

It's a nice thought, but let's ask Detroit how they are doing with J.Smith's contract... Yes we will probably be able to trade him but for what? 10m/yr Kyle Lowry is a tradable asset you will get value in return, a 12-13m/yr Kyle Lowry is not... Yes, the Rockets just trade Asik for a 1st Rd. It was also the last year of his deal, that only takes up 8.5m on the cap for a defensive bigman... Big difference between Kyle Lowry at 12m with say 3yrs still left on his deal...

Few things. First off, that's assuming Kyle falls off the face of the Earth with his play. Second thing, Josh Smith is totally different in terms of what he brings to a team and isn't that leader player on a team who takes and makes big shots and makes big plays. If Lin can be traded, Kyle can be traded. If Rudy can be traded, Kyle can be traded. I doubt anyone here would even think to trade Gay for Kyle.

Beat me to it. Detroit is a unique team/franchise where they just suck at everything they do so they shouldn't be listed for examples. I like the Lin comparison, if he can be traded, many teams will be lining up for a Lowry like player down the road.

No. Thats the whole point. They will not waste time on stuff that won't happen. 12:01AM, the mission is to contact Lowry and sign him ASAP. Let Miami, Houston etc. work on Lebron.

I feel like we're getting Lowry for sure and he wants to stay in Toronto. 11-12 M/year.

didn't Lowry have the exact same knee problems as Bledsoe before he got drafted? I'm not too concerned about the knees because he still put up 17/5/5 (on a 57 TS%) after coming back from the injury. I'd prefer not to overpay either of these guys (hoping for Lowry @10mil), but if it's a foregone conclusion that we will, I'd rather it be on the younger, improving player that will likely maintain (and possibly exceed) his trade value down the road.

This is where BC would come in useful because you know he would overpay the sh*t out of him just to make sure he stays. We're talking 15 mil/year.

Bledsoe had part of his meniscus removed. If you remove all then the padding in your knee is gone. Wade and Roy removed it and Bledsoe only part. It effects Bledsoe future much more because of his game.

And Lowry would still bolt. Better for Kyle to get a reasonable deal with a GM he actually likes.

Prediction: many of us are not going to like the terms of this Lowry deal.

I was hoping this new management wouldn't overpay for mediocrity.

Lol you may not want overpay Lowry but he is far from mediocre.

This is a critical step for the organization.. Do we retain lowry as an asset, lose him for nothing, or overpay him and put ourselves on the treadmill?
