They all did that in 2010, why would they need to hide it this year?

Unsure what you are saying here. That in 2010 there was a deal in place with Riley prior to July 1st for all of them to sign in Miami? If so, then I agree.

If so, they also gave a false narrative then. They hid it then, just as they would now.

So what are you getting at?

i just hope he does indeed demand a full max and we can put all this superstar discount BS to a rest

itd be lovely if super max players wanted to take a discount but that doesn't happen in a significant way, or hasn't yet

lets just get the resigning over in Mia and NY and move on

hate to beat a dead horse but with orlando shedding nelson and maxiel coming next, they will have about $30 million in salary slated for next season.
CBA rules require they have atleast about $56 mil in salary.
Amare is a great candidate for Orlando to slot in there...

I'm really not buying it from Lebron. I think to go to another team, the MAX is definitely required. However he will take a paycut in Miami if Riley can convince a big name

I don't understand what the Big 3 and/or the Heat have to hide? What are they trying to distract from and why?

Its open, common knowledge what they did and perfectly legal. What are they trying to throw the stink off something everyone is aware of?

They could go the whole season with salary less than that and the worst that happens is they have to pay the players currently on the roster the difference.

Is it legal to negotiate and agree to the next contract prior to the opt out? Would it be legal for them to have a fourth player in the fold prior to July 1st?

Windhorst was on ESPN yesterday, he was asked point blank is this legal if the Heat are involved and he said NO. It would not be legal. That is why, according to him (with a sh*t eating grin on his face I might add), the players devised this plan without the help of Riley and any team official.

While I hope this is true, I just can't justify why they would want to pay amare 23 mil for a year. Getting Larkin or shump doesn't seem to enticing enough. Unless maybe to mentor Aaron Gordon.

It seems to me the Knicks should move quickly to TRY to deal away Amar'e using Hardaway/2018 pick/Larkin, etc., and then deal away Bargs using Shump/2020 pick/Early, etc.

If/once in place, call Rich Paul and say he can come play with Melo in NY, and Phil will take the bench.

This can't be impossible can it? Hard I know. But it may be doable.
