I took it for what it is. He told his agent to tell who ever calls for him he wants the max. I really don't think he is interested in what other teams have to say.

If/once in place, call Rich Paul and say he can come play with Melo in NY, and Phil will take the bench.

This can't be impossible can it? Hard I know. But it may be doable.

If he did that, the Knicks would instantly lose all credibility with agents all over the league. He just hired a coach who knows the system as well as anyone, albeit an inexperienced coach, but why would he dump him before the season even starts? That tells the rest of the league that contracts mean nothing to the Knicks and shows instability, which is exactly what Jackson does not want to do.

Well, he could simply keep Derek his top assistant and mentor him for a year. It's not the most difficult or essential part of my plan.

CBA rules require they have atleast about $56 mil in salary.
Amare is a great candidate for Orlando to slot in there...

As you previously pointed in reference tot he Heat, the James/Melo team would have almost NO size. Wouldn't be too much of a threat, as you said.

Until cap room next year, which would never come after a Wade-Melo-Bron trio on the books.

What is this, some type of attempt at retribution for me exposing your bad, failed argument earlier? That's a little childish, professor.

Would never happen though. He can't just shuffle Fisher to an assistant, that isn't what his contract was for.

I'm kind of surprised a lot of people don't think Lebron really wants the max.

He's in his prime & will be playing with practically the same players & same team that failed him this season. Why wouldn't he demand the max?

Yes. Absolutely yes lol.

Did you watch the Finals? Wade looked like Chris Smith on PCP.

On the other hand, Melo-James-M.Gasol is a dynasty in the making. In 1 year.

There's no getting around the fact that Wade looks done. And he'll soon be asking for his money back. No way to get around that if you're Riley really. Can't take away his money in the short run and build a much better team, can't give him 4 or 5 years without carrying a bad contract for a long time to come. Lose-lose situation.

If LeBron ties his fate to Wade making $16M or so, he'll be going down with him. Add Bosh at that amount and he'll be in even greater trouble.

EDIT: All of which brings us back to the original skirmish. League has every reason to watch Riley closely if they care about fairness at all.

Melo-James-Calderon is like $54m next year. Not even including Smith. If you got Marc Gasol and 8 other players coming for $12m next year, I'm on board.

Do you?

We have to pay LeBron and Melo $47M total now? Seems kind of high professor.

Translation: Well it worked ONCE with the Knicks. My agent will distract these fools, hoping to create salary cap by making desperate deals and weakening any potential rivals.

Oh so now all of a sudden you believe media reports fully and unequivocally, and take them completely at face value. What about the Jeremy Lin thing, where you thought the media was just trying to scare Knicks fans and it should be all be ignored, and Lin was coming back for sure?

Today's report also said if it would help the team, he'd take a little less.

LeBron 20
Melo 19
Calderon 7
Ship out JR
Holds 4
M.Gasol 16

Or maybe LeBron/Melo go up to 41 and you have Gasol at 14. Or you stretch waive Calderon/J.R. Heat will be stuck with Wade above 15. Knicks will have the ability to fit a third big piece in, which is how you win titles.

(And none of your lame efforts here change the fact that you were wrong earlier today.)

Would the Sixers do---Hardaway, and Amare to the Sixers for a 2nd round pick? They could then cut Amare and "double tank", and they get a stud prospect.

Return to New York Knicks
