Ummm....LeBron...Lowry....yeah...

Exactly the point.

No the point is one is like a billionaire who makes more money from endorsements than nba contracts. Lebron will make more this year than Lowry has his entire career so far.

It's easier to lower your salary demands when you are getting massive salary from elsewhere.

Have you guys even been fans of the Raps for the last 10yrs? Do you actually know how the CBA works? How many times do you want us to shoot ourselves in the foot...

I swear I am starting to make a list of all posters who thought paying Lowry 12m+ a year was a good idea & didn't matter much...

In 2 years if Lowry either reverts back to old self, can't live up to his contract, becomes untradeable, or hinders us from having enough space for another Free Agent I don't want to hear a word about you crying about Lowry... All of you guys/girls have been put on notice... Your crying, complaining, armchair gm'ing, hindsight is 20-20 player card has been pulled...

Saw all this same crap when we resigned Bargnani, when signed Hedo... Majority of people thought it was good deals & then later start to bitch about... All I am saying is later on down the line you better own it cause few do on here

Well if we nickel and dime Lowry and he walks I am going to make a list of people who thought it was smart management to let the best performing Raptor of the last few years walk over a couple million bucks.

This isn't Bargs or Hedo we're talking about. This is a fiery winner who is insanely competitive. He embodies everything you want in a player and is a role model for our young guys.

I have no problem with any contract up to $13mm average per year.

Im also pretty sure that the majority of fans and media hated the Bargnani and Turkoglu deals when they were signed. So I dont know what he is talking about.

UneducatedFan86 wrote:Change the perception of the league by overpaying one of our OWN players? That's not changing anything. That is the EXACT perception people have around the league. We can't keep our own players without overpaying them to stay. Anything over 11mil is an overpayment. Anything over 11mil and we are looking to be going into next season with basically the same core, and our team will still have the same major holes (starting PF, SF, and backup C).

A lot of teams in the East have got better via the draft and just by getting their players back from injuries. Also, I'm sure at least one or two teams in the East will make a splash in FA, too. Where we got two very RAW players (Bruno & Bebe) and a veteran player who has lost a step due to a knee injury (Williams). Now, we might be able to add a veteran big, but beyond that...we aren't getting anything else to sure up our lineup. Then, how will we even get team to develop to raw players, and trying to compete for a top playoff spot?

I'm sorry..I'm not excited about just making the playoffs. Being a treadmill team like the Jazz, Nuggets, Hawks, etc is not appealing to me. It doesn't make us more appealing than any of the other teams out there either. Like Lowry said, it's about being able to win a Championship and this core isn't that good or special.

Nicely said ..... and I agree with you, but I feel that the people who have oversight on this team are determined to make this team a winner - kinda like the 1992 and 1993 Blue Jays.

Lol, I hope that is the first year of the contract, and it decreases steadily.

Hopefully it's a front loaded contract that pays $14.5 mil in the first year...

Lol Kyle doesn't even wanna be here if true (I have doubts). I'd tell him to bounce. He'll only stay for damn near 15 mill? No thanks. I want guys that wanna be here, not guys we have to wildly overpay to stay.

But I doubt that's true. That's ridiculous.
