My question in a Portland S&T- Who the heck does SVG even want in that deal? I'd assume Lillard, Batum and Aldridge are obviously off limits. Doesn't leave much. Wes Matthews certainly isn't going to motivate SVG to agree to a deal.

I assume any S&T offer would center around Batum?

He's off limits?

McCollum, one of Lopez/Leonard and first rounders?

I would love to get McCollum and Leonard from them. That's the kind of deal we need for him. Young prospects on rookie deals or 1st rounders.

I would be fine with Mathews and CJ. Or Batum straight up.

That Aldridge Monroe pairing would be woeful on D.

Why do you assume Batum would be off limits?

And Matthews was a 16 ppg scorer last year (better than Monroe) on 39% 3FG and is a lockdown defender, which Monroe doesn't provide. He also only costs 7 mil/yr.

That would be a more than fair deal straight up, though I would try to coax more out of them and see if we could get Wes and Batum, or maybe Wes + a future 1st.

With all these other teams in the bidding, Portland may be forced to make a sizeable trade offer or risk not getting him. Atlanta could be offering Millsap (an all-star last year), so maybe POR has to offer their two non-all-stars in Wes/Batum to match.

Its great that we have so many teams interested (Lakers are also rumored) because we can use them against each other to bid up the price.

Leonard looks like a bust to me, and McCollum didn't play enough to know whether he's even good or not. Too many unknowns there. I'd take it if that was our only offer, but if we can get proven vets, I don't think we can pass that up for guys who may or may not ever contribute anything and riske ending up getting nothing for him.

With Portland being cash strapped... If they want Monroe the conversation begins with Mathews or Batum. Otherwise give me Milsap from ATL.

Matthews was garbage in the playoffs and is severely overrated

If Leonard, Matthews, and McCollum is what SVG will trade Monroe for then we are screwed now and far into the future

I expect a team to give him the max just to piss us off. We're gonna match it. You'll see

Pistons finally gave Monroe the QO.
Stan's comments...“I think teams think it’s better, especially with younger guys, to have an asset, even if he’s overpaid, that can bring value down the road, than to have a guy go for nothing,” Van Gundy said.

Did you watch the playoffs? Matthews was outstanding in the Houston series.

He shut down who some believe is the best offensive SG in the league. He took the J right from Harden's first name and everybody was calling him Ames (lol) because he couldn't make anything with Matthews on him.

 Portland has a ton to offer that we should like... That's a great rumored S&T partner for us!

Eh not really. I doubt they'll give us Batum, who we really need. Matthews is redundant with KCP. And not impressed with CJ. Who else are they going offer? TRobb? Late first round picks? Ugh.

What playoffs were you watching? Go back and watch that Houston series.

Monroe would be a good get for Portland, but I just don't see it happening. Monroe will want more money than the Blazers can afford. Batum is going nowhere. Matthews does not make enough. Portland pretty much only has a bunch of scrubs. There are a couple of "potentials" in that group so maybe they could be moved, but I doubt it would be enough for Monroe.
