I think he recruited Hinrich because he's already played with him. Kurt was the casualty of the summer of 2010 and I don't think that sit right with Derrick, hence the stance on recruiting. He's just loyal. Possibly to a fault.

Agree to disagree. For me, it's pretty clear that the author's referring to Rose's well-known stance on recruiting. I might have written:

"Noah wants to bring Rose along with him as well, and is trying to persuade the point guard to attend the meeting. Rose has made it clear in numerous interviews that he doesn’t view it as his job to recruit free agents"

But that's splitting hairs.

I see what you're saying MSC, but I originally read it as the author just point out that Rose has a no recruiting stance. Not that he said no to Noah about going to the meeting.
