If Knicks did the violative thing Riley probably did, you can be sure it would get quickly stricken down and severely punished.

Although it sickens me to say this , but when all is said and done I bet Miami will somehow be able to add both LOWRY and GORTAT to their core.

It's been my assumption that as a matter of course, when documents like these are written, entities like the NBA... or RealGM for that matter, try to givemthemselves broad powers to cover as many eventualities as possible.

I've further assumed effective policy is less about the letter of the law and a product of what's enforced.

In the case of the CBA, the 'rational standard' seems to dull the bite of an already toothless policy.

I just don't see anything being discussed today as rising up to cause unprecedented action. And if not, what the hell are we talking about?

Wojina's source says they have their deals already worked out, which would tend to show they violated the rules already -- and the question will become how "significant" Wade's cut will be:
The Heat's free agents – James, Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem – have the framework of deals in place to remain with Miami, arming Riley with his limitations within the salary cap to sign talent, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

"Everybody has their [contract] number and has left a little bit of room to let [Riley] maneuver," one source briefed on the contract discussions told Yahoo Sports.

Now, it is on Riley to replenish a roster that failed in a five-game NBA Finals loss to San Antonio. As Yahoo Sports reported on Saturday, James is pursuing a full max contract extension, beginning at $20.6 million – or something slightly below. Bosh and Wade will need to take pay cuts – Wade's significant – to create the cap space for Miami to be competitive in pursuit of free agent targets that include Kyle Lowry, Luol Deng, Marcin Gortat, Trevor Ariza and
Marvin Williams.

As one general manager told Yahoo Sports, "Right now, it's clear they're buying time for Riley to go out and hit the market."

I'd say Lowry is out because he's about his money and Deng is out because he's old school and has no love for the Heat.

I'd be surprised if Wash doesn't shell out for Gortat.

A player and team affiliate can't collude but what about a free agent? Would think they have more leeway.

If Stern were still in charge, the Knicks would be stripped of all picks until 2030.

Stern didn't even punish us for Isiah holding illegal draft workouts

If at the end of this, if the Heat wind up with Deng, I'll sign up for that right now.

Will Bron sign up for Deng? Deng and that's it.

Gortat is out of their range unless Wade takes ... 9.

Can someone explain to me why Wade would take the steepest cut lol? He's Mr. Heat. He is the Heat.

Why him lol?

Maybe he was worse than Bosh in the Finals but not by much.

I think you need to watch that Finals over again KG, you'll find the answer to your question there.

This is all bull honesty this violates all rules. Do you think if Phil did the same to stat and bargs they wouldn't have opt in and take a deal like

Stat 4 year / 48 million
Bargs 4 year /32 million

This giving knicks an additional 12 million to work with this summer ?

Gortat ? Deng ?

Not even a 5 year /30 million would work just fine for bargs giving knicks 18 million to start Leborn contract at and follow by resigning Melo

Stat 4 yr/40
Bargs 5 yr/30
Melo 5 yr /100
Leborn 5 yr/100

No the Heat have different rules. 29 + 1 because Riley is such a winner.

Deng wants 10 million plus. I would welcome Miami to sign him for that as Bulls fan. He isn't taking a discount either.

So..... there are people suggesting keeping Amar'e and Barg around 4 and 5 years...hmmm
There must be some really good smoke going around...that's all I can say.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

Except we don't want them hanging around for 5 years
