I don't want lebron here. I know what it means. It means we're contenders. But I want to do it without cheat codes. Which in this case means without a flighty and fickle superstar who will come here and get what he wants to eventually leave us with nothing. I want a system to be built. I want us to compete for a decade, not for a three year contract. Honestly, I'd take parsons and Hayward over lebron. Not because we would be better, but because I think it'd make us more honest and more sustainable.
All of this being said, I love lebron.
Melo would be possibly make me stop watching the suns.
I can't believe what I'm reading... But it your opinion and are entitled to it.
But...
1. Signing Lebron at 20+ million dollars... That's Paying an athlete to play basketball 20+ million dollars a year, when some guy who is probably leading the research to cancer who will save millions of lives is on a six figure salary with ten times the stress levels.... It's not cheating, suns would be paying Lebron absolute MAX money... Which is how teams in the league get good players.
2. if Suns were given 20 point head starts every games whilst having a perfectly fine lineup... Id feel bad too... Because they have an unfair advantage...
3. If suns players were allowed to take PEDs to recover quicker from a back to back, injury or general after game recovery whilst other teams weren't allowed... I'd feel bad too... That's another advantage that cheapens the accomplishments.
4. if suns were allowed to have an extra 1% on their soft cap above everyone else... I'd feel bad because that's an unfair advantage, again, it cheapens the accomplishments.
5. if suns were allowed to play with 6 men on the court against 5 men... I'd feel bad again... It's an unfair advantage.
But to play the Free Agency game... Where 3-4 of the top teams are stacked of talent And another 4-5 teams having tons of stars wanting to play there... Suns playing within rules and aiming to get better within those same rules... Is not cheating nor should anyone else feel cheating.
Suns are a young team with potential.. It's not like they have 4-5 stars all taking less salary cap money but getting huge endorsements off court...
Suns getting Lebron is no different than when they had 3-4 all-Stars... Nash, Amare, Marion and Joe Johnson...
In fact I think the SSOL team would be best team in the league today.. With no prime Duncan/Parker/Ginobili Spurs to get in the way.
I take it you just want the Suns to be underdogs and win miraculously... Like a Disney movie where the bunch of "good" guys beat the big bad bullies...
Sorry but that's fantasy today...
Look at all the championship teams... Multiple All stars and HOF players ... Suns don't have one currently.
