Cameroon - alleged fixed match versus Croatia.

Post#1 » by EuroPacer » Tue Jul 1, 2014 8:29 am

That ugly corruption is roaring its head again. A convicted match fixer revealed to a German newspaper that Croatia would win 4-0 and Cameroon would have a man sent off.... Before the match took place. It is exactly how the game went.

This is one thing that FIFA should sort out, but as long as King Blatter remains in charge, or one of his cronies, the World Cup will always be tainted by mockery of principles of sport.

So looking back at it we at least know now why Cameroons keeper always jumped away from the ball instead of keeping it.

That would explain their stunning indifference.

I don't get it, how can a whole team be involved in the fixing? And why would a guy like Song whose already making millions be participating in it.

We're talking about people who've been fighting over World Cup bonuses.

But that's different. Everyone participating in the world cup are entitled to their bonuses, that's fine. But screwing your own countrymen by intentionally losing a game? I need more proof than he said she said rumors.

Appreciated, I posted it early in the morning :o .

Here are some sources:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28102841
http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jul/01/world-cup-2014-cameroon-investigate-match-fixing-claims
http://www.cbc.ca/sports/soccer/brazil2014/cameroon-soccer-federation-to-probe-match-fixing-claims-1.2692759

I appreciate it is alleged and not concluded, but even the insinuation is incredibly damaging. There were other incidents where I felt that suspect play was involved, I am not going to mention them, but this sort of story just confirms that being suspicious is not tantamount to paranoia, real shame.

If a team did that while not being eliminated, then those players should never be called for national team again. Not that it would be right if you are already without a chance, but it would make little sense if you dont give a damn about winning that game.
