I think Wolters can be a great compliment on a contending team.

I really like Wolters, I don't know why so many people don't like him.

I think he can be a nice piece to a contender, he has the potential to be a solid pass-first PG.

Huh? Who doesn't like him? Opinions here seem to range from starter on a contender to quality backup.

What does that even mean? Not every bench guy in the NBA is good, regardless of race. If you are a quality backup, you are one of the better players by the averages.

I'm confused. Can I say the true hate for Brandon Knight, Larry Sanders, and Larry Drew is racist?

Racism plays zero part in any of this. There's still plenty of reason to be optimistic yet skeptical of what Wolters might really become. I don't get the Knight hate because it's so extreme. He's a talented player and still extremely young, he's played for 2 dysfunctional organizations in 4yrs. Ppl should be more willing to give him a fair chance now that we've created some stability. As for Larry and Larry, Sanders showed some real bone headed cards last year that are real causes for concern. I'll give him a pass for last year because his extension hadn't kicked in yet. From this year on, anything remotely close to last year and we basically flushed a lot of $$$ down the toilet yet again. Another example of let's see what happens in a more stable environment. But as for Larry Drew, he was awful, didn't deserve another year and should've been let go months ago. Drew had the easiest job in the entire league last year and still managed to F it up. Just shows how much of a clown he is. The fact he chose to not develop the youth while still being a complete train wreck is over alarming to say the least. Drew coached to keep his job, he showed no interest in the future of the team. Major reason why I don't feel bad at all to what happened to him with the Kidd situation and also Drew did nothing to warrant any Bucks fans sticking up for him when he gets bashed for being terrible.

1. I don't believe Jason Kidd wants to coach this team in 14/15 for a high draft pick in 2015. So no tank.
2. The development of Giannis and Jabari will be helped with a good (pass first) point guard. Experience is welcome.
3. The Bucks only have 1 true PG on the roster at the moment (Wolters).
4. No hate for Knight, but I see him as a combo guard form the bench (and expect Kidd to use him that way).
5. I assume a lot of point guards want to play under HC Kidd.
6. I'm thinking about at least 8 assists per 48 and 2 lobs for Giannis every game.

So who should be targeted, what is realistic (poss.) what is needed for a trade and what's the offer for FA's?

Here's a list of PG's, ranked by assists per 48:

Really don't see Marshall as a starting PG in the NBA.

Of the guys on that list, the only ones I'd really be interested in that are at all attainable are Bledsoe and Shelvin Mack.

Wolters looks like the best candidate to me. Could improve his outside shot, but his best attribute is not screwing up the offense. Even if Giannis turns out to be a great point forward, it's nice to have a guard that can bring the ball up the floor and hit the open shot. Nevertheless, some time in the near future the Bucks are going to have to procure a quality big guard.

I think you give Kidd and Wolters 1 year together. With Parker/Giannis as your 1/2 options, you mainly need a facilitator. I haven't seen anything that says Wolters can't do that.

If memory serves me correct Wolters 3pt shot improved over the season as well. If he keeps up his post all star numbers it will help with spacing. I'm all in with giving Wolters the keys, unless Bledsoe can be had at around Lowry money.

Wolters - Knight backcourt in which either can bring the ball up, but with Wolters as the primary ballhandler/setup guy.

Dual PG lineups seem to be on the rise. Both these guys have good size and can handle the ball. Why not?

My thoughts.

Although I like Sessions, we either go big and try to start the winning process/culture now or we go with what we have. Sessions represents neither.

I would throw a max offer at Bledsoe. Bledsoe-?-Giannis-Parker-Sanders is one hell of a core group imo. Granted still a ton of potential and a bit early to start to bank on a group of players. A risk that I would take.

The above is a big pill to swallow and not very likely to happen. Hammond cannot take such a risk.

I am all for going with what we have. I would start Wolters and groom him for the FT job. Knight can start at SG unless that is addressed this offseason. SG is in more dire straights imo than PG is. I can live with a Wolters/Knight PG position.

Wolters has proven to be a solid floor general. Has good size and was surprisingly good last year. He needs to work on his shot obviously and I wouldn't mind if he worked with Parker on conditioning, strength and agility. Love to see him up the ante on his fitness level. Would help him a lot.

If Skiles....whoops Kidd doesn't like the prospect of Wolters, I can live with Knight at PG if we rely more heavily on working the ball through Giannis.

This is where having Jason Kidd will be very valuable. Kidd will flush out if he thinks Knight is a PG and whether or not Wolters is worth investing in leading the team.

This is a good point. According to the Nets fan, Kidd was very decisive about Lopez - he wanted him gone because he stopped the ball and slowed down their offense while providing little in the way of rebounding and rim protection, and it looks like he was correct based on their late season surge sans Lopez.

It'll be interesting to see what he thinks of Wolters and what role he decides for Knight.
