Classy organization. Bye bye CDR? :-?

is the classy organization part serious or sarcasm? you are upset that the hornets seemingly picked JT over CDR?

they are classy for not cutting JT after coming back from a nasty injury and giving him a shot at redemption. it would have been a dick move to cut JT in the middle of his rehab - especially for a mere 900k.

this still shouldnt stop us from bringing back CDR if we strike out with other wing free agents. however, CDR will hopefully get a nice raise from another team looking for wing help, more than we would probably pay.

And every player is looking to pick up every team. I really wonder if any of them has a clue where he wants to play. I do feel our situation is as inviting as any.

I think if these players are smart they will look mainly at Hornets, Rockets, Bulls and Suns.

fat for what its worth I think MKIA was saying classy to guarantee contract, but sucks cause that might mean bye bye CDR. Then again I isn't always so brighter.

ARHornet wrote:We still have room for CDR as it stands now. Even if we bring in a guy like Stephenson, then we could shed Hendo or Neal to make room. CDR certainly could be upgraded, but I hope he returns. Not including MKG, he was our best wing last year.

Of course CDR could be upgraded, but at what cost is the concern for me. Not just financially viewing it, but I felt like CDR bonded with the locker room and was a key part to the chemistry of the team as a whole with such a outlandish personality, not to mention he is almost as close to MKG as a brother. Not trying to rebut anything you've stated, just delving out how important I think CDR is beyond the numbers

There was no sarcasm on my part. I was stating that it was classy of the organization to reward Taylor a chance to redeem himself and regain traction on his career concluding the injury, but it's bittersweet because it 'might' spell the end for CDR on the roster

I know CDR returning is still a possibility. That's why I put the '?' at the end to leave it open for discussion

I also think that CRD and McBob were key to the chemistry. But if they stick with chemistry above all how do they get better?

Honestly I think that CDR > Taylor ... but Cliff really seemed to like Taylor for some reason even though he really sucked last year even pre-injury.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Sacramento, Charlotte, Minnesota, Orlando and the champs from San Antonio all calling, I'm told, about Brooklyn free agent Shaun Livingston

I'm starting to think we should go for a bigger PG that can play some D, or maybe even a combo guard that can play some D. I just remember getting destroyed by bigger PGs last season. It would be nice to have someone we can put up against the Deron Williams and the Westrooks and even the Andre Millers of the league.

Sessions was a pretty bad defensive player. How is Livingstons defense? Is Kirk Hinrich washed up? What about Devin Harris, can he still play defense?

So far by my recollection we've been linked to the following players:

Livingston
Hayward
Nelson
McRoberts (duh)
PJ Tucker
Trevor Ariza
and Parsons (although I don't trust the source here)

Between the state of the Panthers under Gettleman and the Hornets under Cho I think it's a pretty good time to be a Charlotte sports fan.

Not much on what Charlotte is doing right now, but it isn't like players are getting signed left and right. Players have to meet with multiple teams, talk to their agents and see where to go from there. It isn't like the Irving situation where hes going to obviously not pass up 90 million dollars or something insane.

Give it another couple days

A knowledgeable source confirms the Hornets reached out to Livingston’s representatives overnight just after the start of NBA free-agency. The Hornets need a backup point guard and the 6-foot-7 Livingston would offer a contrast to 6-foot-1 starter Kemba Walker.

Somebody might want to start a 'Shaun Livingston Thread'

No offense to Spencer Percy but he's the guy who, after the NBA combine, said that "We know" the Hornets love Gary Harris and James Young. Look how far those guys fell. Nobody loved them. Young fell to 17 and Harris fell to 19. Both fell out of the lottery and this guy was sure they were getting serious looks at 9. I know Vonleh was unexpected and I can't prove it, but there's just no way in hell the Hornets were serious about either guy.
