Sign and trade with Portland?

From ESPN.com's Marc Stein: "Another team to watch in the Greg Monroe restricted free-agent hunt: I'm told Portland has serious interest in a sign-and-trade for Monroe.

We already went over it quite a bit yesterday. Batum would be great, but I don't think he's on the table.

I was tempted to make a poll to see what people thought about our PF spot, because right now it looks like people have begun to favor trading both Monroe and Smith. In my opinion, in makes sense because neither fit next to Andre the best.. But yeah, before we started seeing who was interest and the for-sure salary Monroe was going to command, it appeared like most people wanted to hang on to him.

Ehh smith would be a pretty good fit, its just he's much older and relies way too much on his athletic ability. Once his decline starts he;s going to fall off quick ala Ben Wallace.

Or Gerald aka Crash Wallace.

At least Crash has a semblance of BBall IQ.

I'm fine if we could get a nice return for Monroe in a S&T and were able to dump Smith. I think we really need to add a dominant perimeter ball handler/scorer to pair with Drummond. I'm afraid we are running out of chances to get high draft picks as Drummond could single handedly take us out of the top of the lottery as early as this year. Hitting the slight reset and stripping it down to Drummond/any other promising young players isn't the worst thing in the world.

You could make a solid case for any scenario. Keeping either player, or neither.

My bad. I was out of action yesterday and just saw this today. Should have checked for another thread first. I'll lock...
