I'll only be disappointed if Melo leaves NY for somewhere other than Chi. If he goes back to NY - more power to him.

If Bulls can get Rose to be part of recruiting...anything is possible! :D

Probably depends on the individual. I know when I'm interviewing people for a position I find myself tending to like the most recent applicant (but I'm aware my brain thinks like that so I try to factor that into my decisions). Some people kind of get stuck on their first option and it's hard to sway them after that.

If the Bulls selling point was that he would have to take 13-14 million his first year(to keep most of the other "core" in place) sorry, but just can't see it happening. Yeah, I could see Melo sacrificing 3-5 million per year, but not that much. Just not happening, IMO.

Can't thibs just threaten to cut Leon rose salary from 15% to 10% of his earnings if he don't talk melo into joining us?

It's funny that Melo and Thibs will be at the opposite side of the table and Thibs is convincing his own agent that his other client is a good place for him

Yeah, it's a little easier to get over when big free agents stick with their teams. And Melo seems sincere in not wanting to disrupt his family's life by moving them again, which is hard to fault him for (though I imagine they could stay in NY and he could live there in the offseason - he won't be home a ton during the season anyway). But as has been pointed out, it would make Melo's "I want to play where I can win" comments a little hollow.
Can I borrow a feeling?

How enraged would this board be if they poorly photoshopped the headband out of the picture?

Even if there wasn't a contractually agreed upon percentage that Leon Rose is paid, why would he favor the lower earning client over the higher earning client and possibly sully his reputation and future deals with other players?

Now that Friedell got his pictures of Melo walking into the UC, what does he do for the next 4-5 hours?

If they don't put their best offer out there before he leaves, I will be incredibly disappointed. He has other options. Be close to 20 million. Explain the boozer amnesty and s&t avenue. Get your cake and eat it too

Keeping the 'core' (Rose/Noah/Butler/Gibson/Noah/Dougie) would allow Melo a little over 16 in first year salary. We need a S&T.

For those who missed it:

Derrick Rose is scheduled to be part of the Bulls' Tuesday pitch to Carmelo Anthony, according to sources familiar with the meeting. Whether that involves Rose attending the meeting in person or talking to Anthony isn't clear yet.
But if Anthony needs to hear from Rose directly, sources said an effort for that conversation to happen will be made by the Bulls of their star employee.

Looks like the team really did view as being beneficial for Rose to be proactive in this.
