Cartier Martin is a very solid 3 point shooter, and is obviously being brought in as our backup SF with Singler remaining our starter. One a 1 year deal, it's not going to hinder us going forward in any way, and will probably be in the 2-3mil range. This might not be a glamorous signing, but it's a solid one.

Career 38% 3pt shooter. Whatever. It's a nice pickup, he probably won't play much but when he does he'll help by stretching the floor.

Precisely.

Martin, is definitely not a guy you should be targeting. He's more of a fallback option to the original fallback option.

I am very very worried. Martin and Meeks? Jesus, better to go for a home run and miss then go immediately for these "singles" . These are the guys you get after you strike out, not before.

Yup, I don't understand this at all. I hate this quantity over quality approach. Terrible start to free agency.

From what I can tell, Cartier Martin and Jodie Meeks are the first two confirmed free agents to agree to sign. I have heard that Wade/Bosh are back on board with Miami, but haven't seen anything to confirm it.

Can someone tell me why Cartier Martin was one of the first free agent dominoes to fall? (Or Jodie Meeks for that matter?)
