Miami was targeting him.

Anyway good for Gortat.

Once the Lowry domino falls, Miami will be out of options...almost. I just don't think Deng+Gasol=LeBron staying.

I think Deng+Gasol=LeBron signing a 2 year deal with Heat. Though I read Deng isn't looking to take a pay cut to play in Miami. I would also expect the Suns to become MAJOR players for Gasol, so if Gasol chooses Phoenix....

Despite early interest in Spencer Hawes and Channing Frye, Warriors are turning their concentration toward signing a backup PG, per source.

Those numbers seem close to MLE numbers. Which would take the Warriors out of the Frye sweepstakes. Granted, I could be wrong.

Kind of a quiet day - have to wait for the Heat to do their thing .

But I don't see Bosh taking 11m dollars. That's a 50% cut - now way. Maybe 5m to make 45-50 in three as opposed to 42 in two - but no way will he play four years to make what he made in two. I just don't see that happening

Do you know how many teams are after Pau, Deng and Hayward? A lot. And Utah likely to match.

Still haven't seen anything on LeBron except here, and one report (Woj) saying they have the "framework" of a contract for LeBron.

I take it the meeting with the agent didn't go well and Ray Ray knows this? Or was he still trying to confirm?

Have we even met with Lebron's agent yet?

I thought they were meeting this some morning this week. I don't know though. He was going to sit down with Rich Paul, his agent, and lay out our plan, as was Dallas and Houston. That's all I know. Maybe it was later.

But I haven't heard anything except for Ray Ray's post. I didn't know if that meant McD got back from a meeting this morning and said "There is no way we are getting him. He's 95% sure he is staying with Miami unless they really screw it up."

Or what. But it's crazy. Everyone here was SO excited and going crazy for like 48 hours....some people thought there was a really good chance it seemed....and then suddenly everyone is doom and gloom because of one post that never specified much at all and never was clarified later (unless I missed it...haven't caught up on posts).

I mean I always thought we had about a 5% chance, but I don't see exactly why that has changed.

Yeah, between the Frye thing and them using their mid level on a guard, it could be an indication the Minnesota GS deal is going to go down.

Then again, they were talking about Hawes and using the TPE to get him.

I actually disagree. While I don't think they have enough for both guys, Gasol and Deng would be a great fit for the Heat and enough to keep them all there. That lineup would be ridiculous.

If the Raptors lose out on Lowry, I'd expect them to make a serious run at Bosh. This could get really interesting. I think the 'Heat magic' of luring cut rate free agents might be used up...

Pau talking to Riley today

Lots of time left in free agency but so far I have seen the Suns connected to Bazemore and Thomas

I'm always pulling for Livingston. He turned down a near 40mil contract the year he was injured. I'm sure he's still regretting that of course. So anytime he gets paid, it feels good. He's earned it for sure.

From our perspective, this is another guy Miami was likely targeting. So it's good to get him off the board.

I don't quite get either of them. Unless they think they will be trading for K-Love and giving up PG/SG's. Then talking to these guys does make sense.

Some Oregon beat writer said bosh and wade had their contracts basically done. Than it's was disproven. Than the US soccer team lost. After that coro tweeted out the summer league roster. That's about it.

They are over the cap. All they had was the MLE and a possibly a Trade Exception they have to use on July 10th unless they can't use it on the day it expires. Some writer tweeted today made it seem like they could. Maybe Stein?
