I've WON!

130 mill for 5 years? I'd lose every year with a smile on my face.

Forget Miami, get the money Melo

8-)

Money isn't everything Mr. Jordan Belfort, especially in the NBA.

But you want him to accept less money with the POSSIBILITY of winning titles in Chicago??

No way, anything can happen. The money is guaranteed. Melo tears something and has to fight back for his career? He still has 130 million.

Forget the NBA.

If I had the wealth that Carmelo should have, I definitely could leave that kind of money on the table. Not that I necessarily would, but I definitely could if the circumstances warranted it. Not knowing him, I wouldn't even guess at whether he would or not. I assume only he knows for sure.

Is going to play in Chicago a championship for sure? Let's see, Rose is coming off of three knee surgeries and the Bulls owner is known to be frugal.(see stoudemire)

Chances to win a title in NY? Dude, I really need your weed... If he wants the money, good luck and prepare to suck with the rest of the Knicks organization...

That's a whole lotta wishful thinking there. Your franchise is in shambles right now, sorry but it's true.

Not that surprising IMO. Rahm is a big bulls fan too. And I definitely wouldn't be surprised if Melo was on the phone with Obama today too.

Now if the Knicks actually offer Melo the 'Super Max' over 5 years... doesn't that completely screw over their rebuilding process?

Also - If Melo is indeed out to dinner right now with the Bulls as reported by KC - it looks promising, don't you think?

Sorta. The trading of Chandler hurt a bit but they have two huge contracts coming off the books still. Boozer might make a third and Phil can go into full rebuild mode.

Can Bulls offer Supermax in a sign & trade?

For rebuttals to this, please refer to pages 1-99 of every Melo thread on this board. Your answer will be on all of them.

Obama no longer has to worry about re-election. Go ahead and recruit for the Bulls, big man.

Only the team with Bird rights can offer that.

ive said this a million times, but there is no perfect destination for melo this summer. Chicago he will make less and take a risk on Derricks knees. But its his best chance at a title if Rose is healthy nd due to the weak east.

In ny he will make max money but is 2-3 years away from "real" title contention unless the knicks get lebron next season.

Houston bad fit and in the west, dallas dirk is old and lakers lol.

In the end i have always felt he would take the money, but if he does you guys are not winning a title in the next 5 yhears unless you get durant or lebron. And if you miss out on lebron is durnat going to want to join a 33 yo melo?

Hoow are the Knicks in a similar situation as us next year. They would have tons of money, but damn near all the good players have re upped.Who's left for the Knicks in 2015? Rondo?

Have to be honest - I think New York's situation is less dim than this board assumes. Not great of course, but we're talking about the East. NY could be a middle playoff seed next year, maybe even third. They are always players in free agency because of their town, and while Melo is older...in his brain he is still firmly in that prime, so he doesnt see the end as being near necessarily.

He take motivation from others saying that about him right now.

Melo has stated it's not about the money, but that's a lot of money he'd be leaving on the table. I wish he'd come here, but I don't blame him if he takes NY's max offer.

My cost of living here in the Bay Area is probably 30% higher than it would be Jackson, Mississippi. That's 30% of my career earnings I'm pissing away for a zip code.

But I stay here because I love it and because I realize life's short.

Maybe winning a chip means more to Melo than that extra money. We'll see.

You say that like NYK's 2015 plan is some kind of lock. It isn't. Lots of variables. One thing's for sure: next season on the Bulls is a contender on paper. That's 1 of 4 seasons he'd sign for.

Whoa now. Chances are he ended up "recruiting" in a large part because of all the bashing he received. It's also starting to seem as if that Noah tweet may have been directed at him. Either way, it's becoming pretty clear that the rest of the Bulls viewed it to be important that he actually participate in this process.

No point in saying that people jumped the gun. They didn't. He straight up said he wasn't going to recruit, and that's what people reacted to.

The bolded part is pure speculation and you know it. Can't just try and pass that off as fact. And Derrick said he doesn't recruit as a general rule, but it was also reported that he and his camp had already reached out to Melo (recruiting), yet people chose to downplay that little note. Bottom line, he recruited Melo when lots of people prematurely bashed him for not being willing to do so. They were wrong, they jumped the gun with the bashing.

People are irrational when it comes to Derrick
